Craig (Gamedachi)

Craig is a media player Gamedachi, based on his namesake's brand of iPod lookalikes. He takes an interest in many kinds of music, and he’s able to fine tune his own tastes and recommendations the more that's played. He’s also able to cleverly optimize which equalizer presets to use.

He has a USB 2.0 charge and sync cable tail that's covered with a snowy coat. There are black airbrushed marks at the ends of his paws, which have stitched arrow-shaped pads for pausing or resuming playback. On his front are more traditional playback controls. He wears a blue checkered scarf, which is long enough that he likes to hold it like a little blanket.

He stores a whopping 4 GB of music and video. There is a software CD for syncing and organizing music, but no one uses it, as it’s less reliable than just dragging files in like a regular storage device. People use the utility on there for converting their video to the funky proprietary AMV format he takes, but that's about it. (That said make sure AutoRun's off, it's a little sketchy.)

Craig's also PlaysForSure DRM certified, somehow! That said, he doesn’t make much of a fuss about where he’s getting music from anyway. That's evidenced further by how his preloaded music is in a secret unknown language. It’s all really folky stuff, though, so it's kind of a vibe anyway.
