About
Noel is the writer for the Retropolis Tribune, "Where your business is our business!"
To most, if not all Retropolis people, Noel seems like your average everyday guy. So it’s sincerely surprising that he’s the son of the 1920s district leader Norman Papers!
Noel tries not to take this to heart, though, as he is just a regular guy! He isn’t a fan of all the glitzy glamor of being related to a district leader. He’d much rather be a beloved member of his community instead of some big celebrity life!
For this reason, when he’s not in the office or doing paperwork, this average guy likes to relax in his ordinary apartment with his incredible son and enormous demon sun deity boyfriend.
Personality
Noel is a quick-talking newspaper with a good heart. He cannot lie, which tends to get him into trouble with his friends. He can be cocky when it comes to things he’s wellversed in, and critical when it comes to things unfamiliar to him. Despite that, he really has no ill intentions. He tries very hard to be an average friendly guy and you can most often then not catch him in a cheery mood.

- Don't go too crazy with paper rolls. The max should be 4. Make them BIG! We gotta see the ROLLLLS, BABY!
- Eyes are really round with 3 eyelashes.
- His eyebrows are made of pictures on his newspapers. One on his roll and one on his dome piece. He has sideburns as well!
- Hat headline always has text that relates to the situation he's presently in.

Dickson Daffodil
Dickson Daffodil is the creator of Retropolis as well as the host of Showstopper! But most importantly Dickson is Noel’s best friend! These two have been friends since Noel was a kid! Noel has a major crush on Dickson but refuses to let that impact his friendship with Dickson! He does everything he can to support him no matter the situation. He has a very embarrassing tattoo of Dickson's name on his back.
Puzzles
Noel is the king of puzzles! His favorites are crosswords and sudokus! He can solve these all in no time flat and makes family game night hell for anyone who dare oppose him!
Rediecable
Noel has the fantastic ability to exclusively lucid dream. So much so that he has a continuous storyline in his dreams. It’s called Rediecable(a pun on Recyclable), where Noel is an average paperboy taking down demons and other baddies without the use of fancy powers. These missions are usually given to him through his dream version of Dickson, who acts as his sidekick. It’s all really silly but he thinks it very cool and very epic.
Cigars
While Noel may not look at it, he likes to smoke! It helps him relieve the stress of the tribune as he sits back with a cigar and his typewriter. He only purchases cigars from the SootCity as he thinks the flavor is unmatched.
Dislikes
Quirk
Every Paper Pal is made with a quirk that coincides with their paper type! And Noel’s is that he can’t lie! When he tries to; he immediately tells the truth, which he HATES! He hates the fact he can’t stop himself from blurting the truth when it’s asked of him. He would hate for any of his friends to think he’s untrustworthy.
B&W
When in a depressive state, he turns completely black and white, aka B&W. In this form, he is ridiculously dreary, and all of his headlines only report bad news. He can lie in this form but is normally too tired to do so.
Tabloids
Noel can’t STAND tabloid pieces! It’s not even because his dad is in such a position of power, though it is a contributing factor. Noel genuinely cannot fathom lying to the public! And for what?? A couple of bucks?! It just boils his paraffin!! This is the reason why he despises Tracy Cellophane and Tabby Loid as the two of them exclusively write nonsense for media attention.
Traffic Cones
Noel has an abundance of irrational fears. However, his biggest fear has to be traffic cones in places where traffic cones don't belong! What is he supposed to do if he sees it? Does he move it?? That's ILLEGAL!! Laws exist for a reason!!!.... And that's the story of how Noel got stuck in his office for a week!

Papermancy
Noel can form his paper into different shapes and weapons. His go-to is a giant paper axe hand! Which is self-explanatory. He is much too afraid to use this in battle, so he usually uses it to open up cans.
Durability
Because of Decarabia, Noel is impervious to almost any physical damage. So no matter how much you rip him apart, he can be bonded back together! But it has to be with his adhesive, which is paraffin wax!
Cartoon Logic
Noel follows cartoon logic, meaning he can squash and stretch to his heart's content without ramifications.
Power of...Dec???
Noel is possessed by the Sun God Decarabia, who is capable of hearing his thoughts and looking out of his eyes. While it's not exactly his power, it can be very useful.
Strengths
Multitasker
Noel is incredible at multitasking to a ridiculous degree. On a bustling night at the tribune, he's known to use two typewriters to write multiple articles simultaneously. It's hard to believe, but it's why he's the best at what he does.
Great Friend
Noel is the bestest friend you could have. He's incredibly loyal and acts like a hypeman no matter the situation. If you need him, he'll be there, even if that means he has to bite off more than he can chew.
Informative
Noel might be a newspaper, but he's like an almanac for information. You can ask him about any topic, and he'd be able to give you the lowdown on just about anything!
Lucid Dream
Noel is a Lucid Dreamer, a being who has the power to be aware in their dreams and manipulate them at will. Noel has no problem conversing mindscapes without needing any skeleton key. It's an incredible power to have and he doesn't even know it.
Weaknesses
Quirk
It doesn’t matter if he’s texting or writing; he won’t be able to lie. The truth that he’s forced to disclose is the truth he believes. For example, he will tell the truth if he’s told a lie and knows it’s a lie. However, if he’s told a lie and believes it, then he will spout the false truth as he thinks it’s correct.
Salt
Because of his possession, salt of any kind is extremely harmful to both Noel and Dec. Unfortunately, he had to learn this the hard way through delicious fries and EXCRUCIATING pain. As a result, he does his best to avoid the stuff for his well-being and the doctor's recommendation.
Self Conscious
Noel is incredibly self-conscious. No matter how capable he is, he will always doubt himself and his abilities. For this reason, he takes a sideline position in most situations.
