BIOGRAPHY

Cyvil McDermot is notorious for his published works, as well as his teachings at the local institute, where he holds lengthy discussions and classes on the art of poetry and literature. His books are mostly known for their vaguely supernatural themes, and the way in which he approaches subjects such as depression and poverty. He is fairly well-off himself, but only from years of hard, rigorous work.

Despite having established such a good name for himself within both the scholarly and artistic scene, he is rather self-conscious about his writing, an old coping mechanism that only intensified when he realized what kind of creature he truly was.
He spends most of his days sulking in his office or out and about fishing for inspiration on the streets and local libraries, and although the majority of people see him as another starving artist, just another author struggling with his own insecurities... there are also many whom look up to him, consider him both alluring and mysterious.

He is very charming, and has a good sense of humor that comes to play quite frequently in conversations, a romantic at heart, but with a temper to be reckoned with. His mood swings are another pest he struggles with in his daily life, something that runs blood deep in his family and that he hates himself even more for. He is very quick to lose his smile when put in positions of discomfort or threat, but he tries his very best to keep his composure in public. Only his own family, petulant students and ill-meaning strangers have truly experienced the wrath that is Cyvil's anger.
Mostly, losing his temper just resorts to uncontrollable sadness, in his case. When days become too tough, he usually holes himself up in his study and writes for weeks on end, a behavior that can lead to trouble when it comes to his job.

BACKGROUND

He was born into a rather poor family under the name of Sicheii Moynihan before his parents fled America, finding themselves situated far out on the countryside of England and with nothing more to his name than a string of murders associated with his father. His father's name was Jackson (Jack) Moynihan and his mother's Haloke, both of their wereabouts currently unknown to Cyvil, or anyone for that matter. When Cyvil hit puberty and began showing signs of the famous lycan gene, passed down through generation after generation in his family, his father attempted to teach him the ways of their family, ancient tecniques to let the "beast within him grow more powerful".

Cyvil, being a very gentle soul even at that age, was not too fond of his fathers implications, and decidedly rebelled against him. It was his mother, however; who showed the most dissastisfaction at his decision. After refusing for years to accept the life of blood and death his father pushed him towards, his parents eventually gave up. Investigations surrounding the murders connected to his father became too much on top of keeping their lifestyle a secret, and his parents decided it was time to disappear once more. A very stressed, distraught, 17 year old Cyvil was not included in this plan. He returned home after school to a house stripped bare of all but his own belongings, and not a sign of his family.

After spending weeks struggling with finding a job, being forced out of school, and surviving on his own, it soon became clear that his parents would not return, and that this was the life he would have to grow used to. He started taking his writing more seriously around this time, finding any spare time possible to jot down thoughts on paper, it became the only thing keeping him sane, keeping him together. He moved out of their old rickety cabin when he could afford it, sold eveything but his closest belongings, and re-situated himself in the city. He began going by the name Cyvil McDermot, and started his life anew.

RELATIONSHIPS

Eden and Maud

Cyvil met the twins at a ballroom party, a ball which he was only invited to thanks to his position at the School and a few fairly acquainted connections... Them meeting each other was entirely a coincidence, Cyvil simply bumped into Maud while fetching a drink for himself, which led to smalltalk, and eventually Maud calling over her brother to introduce him as well.
It was clear from the start that Maud was enamoured with him, from the moment he took her hand to apologize. Suppose you could call it love at first sight.

Cyvil felt something similar when Maud introduced her brother, Eden, and at some point managed to convince himself that he had to get to know the two of them better. He was both shocked and delighted to hear that Maud knew of his name and works, and perhaps that's why he decided to stay close to her.
Eden on the other hand had no idea who he was, but was both flustered and confused at the attention given by Cyvil.

Cyvil's courting of the twins is a jumbled mess to say the very least. Eden is reluctant to meet with him in public (Not that he minds, he does have a face to keep up for the public as well) in fear of being found out. Maud is head over heels and does anything to be close to him, and their parents are not very subtle on their encouragement of Cyvil and Mauds relationship. Cyvil, however; is very conflicted.

He is torn between the need for normalcy, the pressure of society to marry and settle down with a young lady such as Maud, but his feelings for her are bland in comparison to those he harbors for Eden. So he continues to meet up secretly with Eden, and he continues to see Maud in public, responds to dinner invitations, buys them both gifts, sends them both letters. It's easy to convince himself he loves Maud, since her and her brother look so much alike. But he is troubled, nonetheless.

Eden finds out about Cyvil's horrible secret eventually, not by either of their choice, but simply by Cyvils own miscalculation. He falls into a state of depression and self-loathing, locks himself away as he does so often, and loses track of the days. Eden comes over to console him, coerce him out of his bad mood, and they spend a nice even together. It is completely by accident that he comes across Cyvils personal writing and thoughts, and how much he snooped around is still uncertain to Cyvil, but Eden confronts him regardless. He is fascinated and terrified with his findings, but not put off at all.

Eden eventually convinces Cyvil to let him see the transformation, and they bond over this shared secret. Cyvil is terrified that he might harm the twins, but a great burden lifts off his chest at having someone to confide in.

John Duncan

A man he just can't seem to get rid of. He has no real clue as to why this cowboy traveled so far to continuously confront him, but it has him on edge to say the very least.
