Rook

DEM FACTS N STOOF: 

• He can hella run supa-fast and for quite some distance, but it does take a lot out of him to do so which leaves him vulnerable and winded after. He can reach up to 80mph.
• Rook came from a century ridden with plague and pre-industrial. For some general reference, he's familiar with things like early guns/muskets, iron was still widely used. Electrics or lightbulbs didn't exist yet, but telescopes did, and him and his father were experimenting with early forms of blood transfusions and injection. The Catholic Church still held a firm influence over the region. 
• His familiar is a succi-drake named Abby. 
• Him and Franky have a kind of love-hate friendship for sure. They are natural rivals. They don't appear to like each others presence much, banter and fight often, and in general find the other deplorable... Somehow, there's some respect by their skill/powers alone.. But sometimes ages and maturity comes into question.
• Anna is his girlfriend! He also has a lady vixen he's been seeing, miss Chai, one her baristas. Although his sexual attraction with either tends to fluctuate. Rook would be considered aceflux. Aside exception cases of his partner or love-interest, he generally abstains from sex with others and prefers to satisfy himself privately, for worship (F&H) or is unbothered to go long periods without craving at all.
• He does also see Sakura at times, they're more friends overall but they do sometimes flirt and mess about for fun. Oh, Sakura...! >w<
• He's friend to Crema as well, and they enjoy coffee and stories together fairly regularily!

Rook grew up in Denmark to a middle-class family. Most of his extended family were farmers and country-folk, but he grew up in the city with his parents, both Doctors and physicians. A single child, he was raised from childhood into his life's profession, his parents teaching him to become a Doctor, injections even suturing and what different instruments were called and what they were used for.. He was a very young lad, 10-14. His dad was performing some kinds of surgeries as well, that Rook would observe and learn from, later this knowledge would carry over into his his true calling as well.

Upon his travels, he met Franky. Rather, Franky came across him, wounded in an ambush attack and barely making it with his life... Franky noticed the inscriptions on his wardrobe and pocketbook, and took it upon herself to heal him, mostly to get information but - in exchange for his life this way. She unexpectedly time-traveled, and took him with her! He's now stuck in a current time of the post-millennium. 'Culture-shock' is putting it lightly, although, maybe it would be his age but he's been able to learn and adapt fairly okay in the future world..

Technology, and topics about space or science really fascinates him! And he feels spoiled by the wealth of new resources, discoveries and methods of the medical world and with autopsies being accepted in this age. So much to learn... So much to do and try! And with magic as well.. Anything could be possible for Rook, and he feels pretty delighted about this.

In his modern past he didn't have much going for him. His parents claimed and departed within a plague-ridden city at the time, discovering this after coming back from the occult temple he was indoctrinated in and almost lost his own life by sabotage and betrayal of his mentor..! Rook got away, and would never return to his home-land again.

Rook tends to keep to himself for the most part, preferring peace and tranquility to his thoughts, nature and interests. He is caring and empathetic, but feels drained in crowded, loud places and situations. As a doctor, he's inherently sensitive and responsive to inhumanity, suffering and pain. Dedicating his main life-long goal to relieve, heal and soothe with duty and dignity, aligning more closely to his morals before his corruptions in the cult. He still enjoys to explore the mysterious Arts but in an attempt to use them in pragmatic ways and uses... Which often seems very trival to the Gods and demons he attempts to appease, and like most mages and wizards, along the way and some-how he's tainted by the powers he's taught and received, sometimes the craze of madness overcoming him for more mystic knowledge and understanding...!

Ⅰ. Fortes Fortuna Juvat - Fear & Hunger: Termina

Within the Fear & Hunger universe, he is needing to rely on his own wit and tenacity to survival in an unforgiving world and thus being pulled into the endless dream of Rher and the nightmare festival Termina... The situations here may change based on in-game play and circumstances, but Rook can either be his OG cheetah self or a humanised counter-part. Either version would be correct.

Rook's background in this realm is becoming a an experimental medic among nomadic parents that were doctors and early surgeons. As a child he was brought up alongside his parents to learn medical and surgery practise, but they began exploring cult-theories in medicine that led them down a rabbit hole and introducing them to the concept of the old and new gods of lore...  but when the war got desperate he became recruited at 18 to a far and different infantry unit, on the outskirts of Rondon... Much to his parents horror at this they remained supportive & keeping in touch through writing best they could, they worried for his safety. Rooks unit would later be seized yet his life spared unbeknownst to his folks for his skills and select knowledge in necromancy and medicinal skill, making him valuable to the Bremen army. As an prisoner there, he was given a Sylvian skin-bible and a tome of interesting works and writings by a Nosramus, opening up his mind and possibilities...

Upon being released, he learned much about magic and wanted to put it into practise, but first he wanted to see his parents again. He lost touch with them, or their where-abouts indefinitely and causing concern. The only last lead he could think of was the mention of a dream that matched his own in the last letter he got... The green hue, a golden tower, the Moon having eyes that gaze through you. The dreams, the nightmare became persistent and unnerving and had to be more of a coincidence. His mother mentioned 'Prehevil', an old town he's never known, a strange location to Rook... His parents also sent him an artifact from this place, a kind of crest with a gemstone in it, carved and positioned in an indecent manner. Eventually the stone could summon a succubi and partner familiar alongside him, Abby. 

A dark and miserable feeling overcoming him, and a primal desire he's never known suddenly erupting within.. Is this the power of Rher? Is this what the moon scorched were talking about? Suddenly, Rook begins to have visions within a green hued place and meeting unfathomable beings within a great hall. Rook was uncovering a mysterious kind of-the-century event, and an unwitting participant to this banquet of Gods. The effects of the moonlight was taking hold and Rook struggled to maintain his sanity and self-control, this had to be an accident, a mistake... He shouldn't have come to Prehevil.
