Personality
Herrick is a rather stiff and reserved lambie, often referred to as 'stodgy' by those who have met him. He is rather anxious in social situations, which can often result in him coming off as rambling or even standoffish to others. He becomes flustered easily, leaving him stammering or chattering on without thinking. He very much dislikes loud noises, and is easily startled by such things. Herrick is also afraid of the dark... well, not really - he's afraid of what lies in the dark. Herrick will gladly blather on in his british accent about the occult, folklore, mythology - practically anything supernatural whatsoever.  Ever stereotypical, he loves tea, specifically black teas like english breakfast. Perhaps the caffeine is why he's usually so jumpy...
Though Herrick doesn't actively pursue romantic attachments, he is attracted to intelligence. Deep discussions are a sure way to win over his heart.

Dreams
If you've ever had a dream that you were reading your favourite book - Herrick is usually responsible. He delights in creating wondrous dreams focused around literature; from meeting your favourite author to being pulled into the universe of your favourite novel.

Home
Herrick lives in a small apartment above his library, which has an internal entrance up a rickety flight of stairs behind the counter.
The Arcane Archive itself is a library of sorts. The outside of the building is done in a Tudor style, with decorative mahogany half-timbering. Most of the building is made of brick. Its steep gabled roofs sport an elaborate masonry chimney. The embellished doors are made of mahogany. There are groupings of windows along the building, but the ones in the back are far too dusty to make anything out.
The interior of the library is much smaller than one would expect, with books crammed every which-way. It is rather dark; lit by Every one of the library books has been carefully sorted by genre and author, alphabetically by surname of course. Each has a metal plaque reading "Arcane Archive" on the front and spine. There is a 'for sale' section of books near the front, all looking moderately to heavily used and impeccably sorted. The back section of the Arcane Archive is completely off-limits to typical run-of-the-mill customers, but occult researchers are perfectly welcome to look over the contents! The entrance to the restricted section, as it is referred to, is hidden behind a sliding bookshelf. To keep it private, it has a lock on the side that can only be unlocked by a skeleton key that Herrick has hidden in his apartment. The restricted section itself is filled with all sorts of supernatural and occult artefacts, from magical tomes to ancient artefacts. Such items are available for loan out, and even purchase... so long as Herrick has chronicled every little detail of the object in his notebook. If an item is purchased from the restricted section, he insists on keeping in contact with the item's owner to continue studying it if need be. The artefacts, however, are only available for purchase by museums.
