Herrick's Links
Herrick knows Beatrix in passing; they met when she barged into his library to look for an obscure alchemical tome. They have a rather tense relationship; Herrick is rather intimidated by the dark lambicorn.
Beatrix uses Herrick as a source for rare books and magical artefacts. She doesn't really have any feelings about him either way, but is grateful for his large library and vast amount of knowledge about various topics.
Herrick adopted Tera after he found her harassing him on the way back from the museum. He was startled and annoyed at first, but quickly realised that she was just a kid - and all alone. Being the good-hearted lambie he is, he couldn't stand for that. Herrick adopted her as his own daughter, and formerly spent much of his time running around frantically trying to keep her out of trouble.
At first, Tera was rather wary of Herrick. But he had given her a warm bed and food, so she was all too happy to stay with him. Over time, she grew very fond of Herrick and now sees him as a father-figure and mentor of sorts. That won't stop her from making mischief to get his attention, however! Tera knows the best ways to push Herrick's buttons. Though she wouldn't do anything too terrible, the young lambicorn often goes out of her way to play pranks on him and make him flustered in one way or another. As a child, one of her favourite ways of getting Herrick's attention was to doodle all over his bookshelves in crayon.
In her teenage years, she often stayed out past her curfew, which both worried and annoyed Herrick to no end. Tera was famous for sneaking out of the house, mainly to create murals with spraypaint. Her work is that of a true artist; she cuts her own stencils to give it a nice, clean look.
Herrick is Sydney's older brother! They share a love for research and books. However, their topics of research differ greatly. There is some passive-aggression between them, and a bit of a sibling rivalry. Herrick finds it ridiculous that Sydney discounts any truth there is to folklore, and is rather horrified that she prefers coffee over tea.
Sydney is Herrick's younger sister! They share a love for research and books. However, their topics of research differ greatly. There is some passive-aggression between them, and a bit of a sibling rivalry. Sydney thinks Herrick is wasting his time by researching folklore and the occult; she is a huge skeptic. She also keeps trying to convince him that coffee is better than tea, with dismal results. She often makes fun of his strange love for tweed.
Herrick knew Saffron's mother growing up, and took her under his wing after she tried to steal his wallet and ended up with a book instead. Since then, he's acted almost like a father figure to her. Herrick tries to curb her more... devious ways, though this usually backfires in one way or another.
After she tried to steal his wallet but ended up with a book instead, Herrick took Saffron in. Since then, she's become like a part of the family, even taking over the library when Herrick's not there. Some of the funds from the cash register may or may not go missing every once in a while... but what can she say? Saffron's a work-in-progress.
