About
Azzura, or "Azzy" as she typically goes by, is a half-elf disguised as a human who grew up in Graaligo’s storm territory, Fulminus. She was raised in a church dedicated to Bahamut and was cared for by her dragonborn and genasi pastors. While she was there, she was put through several years of rigorous clerical training to become a cleric just like them, an aspiration she had since she was young. Overall, she is a kind and generous individual who wishes to help others and make new connections and memories as she travels with the rest of her party.
Summary
Azzy is generally a very kind and gracious person, opting to treat others with care and respect unless they are deemed undeserving (such as the wicked and cruel). On top of her warm and welcoming demeanour, she is also very loyal to her friends and family, never the type to sacrifice them or desert them without a very good reason and a note left behind explaining her absence. However, Azzy is also one who can be easily manipulated with the right words, often swayed fairly easily by her emotions, whether they be hope, joy, pity, guilt, or anger. This can also cause her to end up being a doormat to other’s wishes and expectations. In fact, many of the high expectations she has placed upon herself were originally started by the less-extreme ones her old teachers wanted her to achieve, but have continuously risen higher by herself as she’s gotten older. It has led her to become somewhat of a perfectionist, striving for goals that she can’t always achieve and beating herself up when she fails to do things the ‘best’ way she can think of. Alongside caving into high expectations, partially because Azzy places far more value in people and connections over money, she’s also fairly careless with money. Sometimes, she is a little too quick to give it out, whether it be for a gift for friends or to help a poor person (or a group of poor people) out of a financial jam, but it also means that she would be willing to go broke to invest in a life-saving diamond to resurrect a fallen friend or relative.
Known History
Much of Azzy's past was shrouded in mystery until Azzy and her future guild team arrived at Karnaca and eventually met a man named Christopher, Azzy's father. He shed light on many of the dark spots in her memory, telling her about her elven mother, Anastasia, and how he had met her Ceduna, a country just south of Graaligo. Chris also explained how they had gotten separated- with the threat of elves potentially finding out about Azzy's existence and possibly getting suspicous of Anastasia not returning home on time, they agreed to move to Arcadia where it would be safer. However, the teleportation spell that would take Azzy and Christoper there backfired on Azzy, sending her to Graaligo instead of Arcadia and causing the two to become separated. Azzy had no recollection of these events since she was too young at the time to be able to remember, which is why she also hardly recognized her own parents until she had gotten a good look at both. After being sent to Graaligo, Azzy lived with four pastors by the names of Durseth, Thaeva, Marxan, and Belzire. Azzy is unaware of her actual birthday, however her clerical pastors agreed amongst themselves to celebrate it on Selunal 22nd for reasons unknown to Azzy herself. Her pastors, though busy with their own lives, set aside time to act as her caretakers and provide her with suitable clerical training so that she could become one herself in the future. They also taught her how to wield a mace, a crossbow, and what would become her holy symbol- a shield with Bahamut's profile depicted on its surface. Her relationship with them was fairly strong, but at some point she was required to swear an oath to never lie for reasons unknown. While this makes it easy to get honest opinions from her, it also makes it difficult to keep secrets. She eventually decided that she wanted to leave the church to further her clerical training in the outside world, figuring there was only so much she could learn at home. Sometime before her departure, she was given her current set of red and black clothes which she takes good care of, wanting to honor the thoughtful gift. With a new vision and a new set of clothes, she decided to journey to Arcadia in hopes that she could find an opportunity to help others there. Her trek to Arcadia involved crossing from Graaligo to Krosk, and then finding a reliable ship and trustworthy sailor to take her across the ocean from Krosk to Briksbour, and then a cart ride to Arcadia. Unfortunately, having only ridden a boat once or twice in her whole life, Azzy was very inexperienced with riding on the sea and had a fairly miserable time due to her seasickness. During her travels, she was able to help a few people along the way by dispelling small evil spirits and taking out weak undead monsters that were causing problems for some civilians. Eventually, she had arrived in Arcadia, where the chapters of her old life would end and where her new journey would begin.
Present
After arriving in Arcadia, Azzy had decided to attend a celebration held in the city of Invervit, hoping to decompress and have a good time alongside the festivities. However, not too long into celebration, a group of golden constructs suddenly appeared and started terrorizing the people at the event. At this moment, Azzy and several other individuals banded together to take out the ones in their immediate area, aiding the rest of the city’s defenses in neutralizing the threat. Not too long after, they found themselves forming a team at the nearby guild to put their skills together and aid others in need. Azzy found this to be the perfect opportunity to continue with what she set out to do- to help others and become a better cleric to make her pastors proud! Since joining the guild, Azzy has been traveling alongside them as they carry out various missions across the land of Arcadia. However, being around a group of new friends on a frequent basis has been leading her to encounter a few difficulties with maintaining her false identity. Sometimes, she accidentally blurts out things that she knows or can see that a human shouldn’t be able to know, such as what she sees in the darkness, and has to hastily amend her statements or cover up for what she said. Perhaps one day she’ll tell them all the honest truth, but for now, she’s going to stick to her disguise and hope no trouble befalls them because of her.

- More often than not, Azzy is a terrible actor.
- Azzy tends to ramble on and on about things either out of passion or nervousness, but she'll shut up if asked to.
- The cloak Azzy wears is sometimes used either as an extra blanket to wrap around her at night or, if brought around her, used to temporarily carry small items like a hammock.
- Azzy has a strong disliking towards most Necromancy spells, however she does appear to be semi-comfortable with a select few. The reason for the distiction is currently not known.
- Another thing she does not care for is anyone trying to touch her head or hair without permission. She’s very fussy over parts of her appearance and greatly dislikes strong gusts of wind that try to mess it up.
- She is very interested in learning how to play chess and other board and card games so she hopes to get better by challenging her teammates and practicing with them.
- The last time Azzy had an alcoholic drink, she blacked out at some point and one of her caretakers scolded her about it, but cryptically never specified what happened. Everyone else seemed concerned but oddly quiet about it too, making Azzy too disturbed to try drinking again.
Related
Admiring their bold and honest demeanor, Azzy finds Ceridwen both hilarious to talk to and fun to be around. She doesn't know much about where Ceridwen's from or where they picked up their particuarly skilled, stealthy combat moves, but she finds them reliable and trustworthy enough to consider a friend and a teammate. Azzy also appreciates Ceridwen's great haggling skills which help the team and their wallets stay afloat.
Azzy is quite curious about Ink, he's the first conspiracy theorist atheist she's ever met! While she disagrees with his views on the legitimacy of deities, she's still respects and cares about him all the same. Lately she's been learning how to play chess with him which has been very interesting and she's looking forward to getting to learn more about him and how to play the game in the future.
There's still a lot about Pluck that Azzy doesn't really know, but she still respects him as a friend and hopes to learn more about her comrade. Azzy thoroughly enjoys his music and appreciates all the help he brings into battles during their guild missions, both offensively and supportively. If she knew when his birthday was, she'd probably try to find a way to get him a large stack of pancakes for the occasion.
