🌺 Dianthus (▹ Fairy Vial)

Dianthus has medium dark skin with an orange undertone, and forest green eyes. Her ears are elven in shape, and her hair is styled in thick twists, pulled into a ponytail and decorated with golden bangles. She wears roses, rose buds, and whole strawberries as accessories, as well as two layered golden necklaces and a pearl "harness."

In height, she is about 5'4. She is fat(!) and not especially curvy. She does not often wear makeup, but likes to paint her nails at times. While she prefers longer skirts, she enjoys transparent fabrics and elaborate stockings as well. Her overall aesthetic is a mixture of both cute and elegant; it is very rare to see her something that isn't detailed, flowing, and pink.

Dianthus is a fairly optimistic person. She tries to see the best in everything, even if a situation seems fruitless or otherwise unpleasant. However, she is not very social, and prefers keeping to herself. This is in part due to the fact that she often lacks the confidence needed to interact with others in a way that is genuine true, and frequently struggles with confrontations. Being brave in interactions is not something that comes naturally to her.

Despite her generally passive nature, Dianthusb is prone to holding petty grudges. It is difficult to make her change her mind about people; first impressions are everything with her, and a bad first impression will leave a lasting impact on her perception of someone. Though she tries to act polite to those she dislikes... it is still very, very easy to identify her true feelings.

ROSETTE PERFUMERY

This passive ability makes the scent of roses follow Dianthus wherever she goes. The smell of roses is soothing, and can calm both animals and people.

PETAL BLOOM
Active | Initiated by singing | Initiation Song | Can be cast in rapid succession, but is fairly weak.

A lower level spell. Creates blooms of rose petals which can be fired off similarly to an arrows. They do not do much harm, but they are good for a distraction... especially as the pollen by-product of the spell can cause intense fits of sneezing.

EARTH'S GROWTH
Active | Initiated by singing | Initiation Song | Cannot be used for trees or other especially large growth.

A spell to cause rapid growth in various plant life. The spell lasts for the duration of the song; if the singer wants ceaseless growth, they must sing ceaselessly as well.

Dianthus was crafted by The Fairymaker, perhaps as a request for some forgetful vial who desired the scent of rosey perfume. The Fairymaker himself must have forgotten about his client as well, for when Dianthus awoke she was alone, nearly buried beneath the leaves of a massive field of wild strawberries. She was not especially young when she was awoken- though she was filled with roses and fresh fruits, she must have been sleeping for quite some time.

FIRST ARC

Almost immedietly after awakening, Dianthus began to wander. Aimlessly at first, but she quickly discovered just how vast and wonderful the world is! Even the most mundane things have their own unique magic. It wasn't soon before she decided she wanted to know everything she could about the world she inhabited, and set forth with the intention to do so.

...The quest for knowledge, however, isn't easy. Things that are initially presented as fact can turn out to be incorrect, customs change over time, or between cultures, while others are lost... there are those with hidden knowledge who would never share it even if it meant certain death, while there are others who seekt this knowledge, and would do anything to obtain it. Seeing this, Dianthus began to feel somewhat cynical. What was the use of knowledge if it would only go to waste, or go into the world hands?

SECOND ARC

And so, for a time, Dianthus' travels stopped. It seemed there was no point to it anymore, and so she retired.
