| Akeem Jacobson [Father] Andreas gets along well enough with his father. After all, he has learned many life skills from the man, often things coming in the form of dealing with others with words, politesse, and friendliness rather than other means. However, he doesn't view his father as infallible like his brother Carrtier does. Andreas sees him as anyone else. The type to make mistakes, get in trouble, and need bailing out. Something that proved to be the case. However, even still he does listen to his father, heeding his advice, including the suggestion that they migrate to The United States. On occasion Akeem isn't above doing some odd work to assist his father, mostly in the form of physical labor, something that's always been a little hard for Akeem given his missing leg, but more often than not Andreas doesn't deal with his father unless either he rings him up first or some other familial obligation forces his hand. | |
| Tessa Jacobson [Mother] Of the Jacobson's that have relocated to California? Andreas is all but the only one to have a good relationship with Tessa, his mother, while she wouldn't admit it she views Carrtier as something of a parenting mistake and she isn't exactly on friendly speaking terms with Akeem due to the fact that he had another child with another woman. However, with Andreas she thinks of him as much as the good, polite, and gentle boy he was growing up back home. They have weekly talks on the phone which involve them catching up and on extremely rare occasions Tessa can serve as an open ear for Andreas to vent at least some of his problems too. Knowing that many of the sources are things that give her stress as well. | |
| Carrtier Jacobson [Brother] Andreas' feelings regarding his younger brother are mixed at the very best. While, being his big brother, Andreas does feel a need to protect and defend his younger brother? Andreas at the same time can't help but view him as the source of all his problems. His losing standing in the community came about as a result of Carrtier bullying the other kids, the being seen as a threat by many of those families is tied to the fact Andreas often came to the aid to defend his brother when he got in over his head, and Carrtier getting in trouble was instrumental in them having to leave Jamaica and having to relocate to California. However, despite all this Andreas can't say with any conviction that he holds any ill will towards his brother. Although, just because he doesn't say it doesn't mean that he doesn't feel it. | |
| Vardah Lasout [Half-Sister] Compared to Carrtier, Andreas and Vardah get along fairly well. For Andreas, she is, mostly, level-headed, rational, a lot more friendly than Carrtier and to Vardah, well, Andreas didn't challenge her to a fight that resulted in someone getting stitches. However, she is new in Andreas' life all the same and as a result there is some work to be done in getting the two to know each other a bit more. However, they do get along well enough that when it came to Vardah needing a job? Andreas was willing to put in a good word for her at the security company he works for and so far she hasn't done anything to make him regret that decision. |
