A shrimpy little dude who is mostly all mostly all bark and no bite. He has a big heart despite his aggressive and narcissistic tendencies, and he has a lot of love for everyone who makes their way into his life. Though he is capable of acting serious and cold, it stresses him out a lot; honestly, he's emotional and cracks under pressure easily, which is why he much prefers to take things not seriously so that he doesn't freak out. Despite how he acts and how stupid he seems sometimes, he is passionate and always takes the feelings of others into consideration. He ultiatemyl values the lives of those he considers family over his own. He is a bit self-sacrificing in that regard, even though his pranks and nonsense can lead you to think otherwise.

Wheat's kithood was fairly normal. He was a kit from a single litter, with a jaded mother and hardworking, senior warrior father. Wheatkit was adventurous nonetheless, and from the moment he opened his eyes he was eager to explore. With his best friend, Beetlekit, another single little kit born a moon after him, he was ready to set out. Which is, of course, how he met his older brother, Sootstripe, a kind-hearted and dedicated cat who instantly fell in love with his little brother. And of course, Wheatkit immediately fell in love with the older cat's zeal for his job and commitment

At his apprentice ceremony, Wheatkit became Wheatpaw, and his mentor was his brother, the very cat he admired. Perhaps Sootstripe had put in a request, or their leader knew his brother was the right fit; either way, he was apprenticed, and Wheatpaw was more than a handful. Early on in his apprenticeship, on a dawn patrol, he and some other cats got into a scuffle with a fox and her pups, to which nearly his whole ear was bitten off. Nearing the middle-end of his apprenticeship, Wheat realized that Soot was discontent with how he and Wheatpaw where treated. Wheat himself didn't seem to mind, but it was apparent Soot was bothered by how every cat had a specific role to fill, how tight the rules were, how keen of an eye their leader kept on the camp; he wanted better for his brother, though Wheat didn't know it. And, so, Soot staged a coup with several other cats- which ultimately failed. He and his supporters, including Wheat, were outsed from the clan. From there, they traveled, and Soot came up with the brilliant idea that he would create a new clan- Sootclan (named after himself, of course), and with Wheatpaw's help, they gathered old clan cats, kittypets, rogues, and loners, and began their task.

Early on in Sootclan's creation, Wheatpaw was given the name Wheatwhisker, by his very own brother, self proclaimed Sootstar. And from there, the rest is history- they recruited cats, fought against their oppressors from the other clan, and eventually Soot went mad with control. Sometime nearing the end of Soot's reign, he and Mercedes had a son- Bishop, and Wheat took it upon himself to care for the kit like his own. And then, the time came, and after a fight on display for all of Sootclan to see, Wheat and Soot scuffled until Wheat ripped through his stomach, and Soot was killed. For good, apparently, as he was never given nine lives.

Wheatwhisker had been granted deputy a long time before that, but never expected he would have to fulfill what came next. Nevertheless, he vowed to treat the newly forming clan like it was meant to be treated. Starclan (hesitantly) granted him nine lives, and he became Wheatstar, a leader who would never let his clan fall into disarray again.
