- comes from a woodsie, sort of hippie family? they highly valued community, respect for the environment, and living in accordance with their species' place in the ecosystem (think hunting prey, but not over hunting) 

 - Geralyn left just to see more of the world and to find a passion, not out of any arguments or strife, but he just felt like he was drifting so his family said okay then drift away and see where the wind takes you!  

- he first experienced hardship after he had traveled kind of past the point of easy return. this is when he met Olive, who was also at a major low point 

- Geralyn is very athletic, and helped Olive design their prosthetic leg! this is when he found an interest in being basically a physical therapist for disabled curios!
