STORY
Zeras was born to a mother and father who both worked as Court Magus' and taught him to be one as well. When he turned 14, his parents both died in a tragic accident and he was appointed one of the new Court Magus' as the strength of his magic was unseen in a child his age. He worked as a Court Magus for the council for many years but he grew tired of the monotonous job very quickly. After a terribly long day, a demon attacked the council, angered by their ruling but because of his exhaustion, Zeras messed up and accidentally got afflicted with the demon's curse. Two eyes appeared on his forehead and a detailed marking on his back showing the curse. He tried to continue his life but he felt the eyes of the council members watching him closely, fearfully, and the curse building up inside his body. He decided to leave but on his way out he met a caged demon boy who asked him to take him along with him. Feeling oddly drawn to the boy and yearning for adventure, he released him from his cage and they escaped together. The demon boy, Karkas, tried to leave the other boy behind but he quickly and effortlessly followed him, forcing them to become companions with his silent, oppressive stare. They now travel together as fugitives wanted by the council and seeking a cure for Zeras' curse.
Court Magus: A magician who works in the court of the kingdom. Often called to defend against demons and other unsavory characters. Also act as a jury and advisor for the King. Often the job is passed down in families until the bloodline runs out!
KARKAS
Unwilling traveling companion. He is a crow demon who was imprisoned awaiting trial for crimes that are unknown to Zeras. He is quite arrogant and likes to flirt and drink to his heart's content. He kind of grows protective of Zeras, especially when he's overtaken by his curse. He finds Zeras interesting and claims to stick around because he's bored. He has questionable methods of doing things and isn't above stealing or killing especially when he's angry.
FREELA
The skull on Karkas' head. She is actually another demon trapped inside a massive crow's skull that serves Karkas. She at first dislikes Zeras greatly as he is the one keeping her master from living freely. Though overtime, she finds him much more tolerable than Karkas. Her other form is unknown by Zeras and she can shapeshift so he doesn't know her true form.
MIVAS
An old friend of Zeras' who is a demon hunter in training. He wants to hunt down the demon that "manipulated" Zeras into going along with him. He's unaware that it's pretty much the other way around. He sharpens his skills so that he'll be able to rescue his friend from his captor. Mivas is quite stubborn and reckless but he is also a pretty powerful, natural-born hunter.
