Story

Tiera's parents ran a small restaurant specializing in spicy foods. She loved cooking and trying new things but hated the human interaction necessary in the service industry. Her father taught her all his skills in the kitchen and tried to instill a sense of humor while her dad showed her “the cool stuff.” As a child she always found weaponry and martial practice not as “cool” as it sounded. It was hard to work without seeing improvement for a long time and exercise was boring. However, as she grew older and had to deal with more difficult social situations, she appreciated having a routine to fall back on. Tiera didn't have many friends and found it hard to understand how others worked. It was easier to focus on something she knew she could do. She also enjoyed having no expectations riding on her while adventuring and discovered the Explorer’s Guild was a perfect fit for her. For a while she stayed with a group of explorers. Two of them were close friends of hers and she felt understood. One eventually stopped adventuring full time to work in his mother’s store, later dying on an exped, but the other remained for a long time before falling ill. After that she mostly tagged along with whoever needed another member. Although she wasn't aware of it, her cooking skills made her a sought-after addition to long expeds. Recently she’s gotten (old) injured, so she was convinced to (retire) take a break.

Back when Tiera was exploring, she collected seeds and clippings of odd plants she found and tried to rehome them in pots. Many of them didn't survive, since she was gone for long stretches and frequently forogt to water them even on the rare occasions she was home, but those that remain are sturdy and varied. Leaves end up in the strangest corners of her apartment and often on her clothing. It's a good solitary hobby. When forced into group or social settings, Tiera tends to complete the bare minimum required of her and will stay quiet if she can get away with it. Even if she likes someone she won't talk much, which has created misunderstandings in the past.
