Though seemingly soft and gentle, Artemisia is anything but. Life on the streets is not glamorous by any means, and she's spent more nights than she could count trying to fend for herself. She didn't know what it meant to be free until she discovered dance, and since then she has been capitalizing on her gift.
Eventually, Artie was able to make it through one of the most prestigious academies in the country, and now performs for royalty. She has grown tired of the royal charades, corruption, and wealth, so disgust has lead her to less... Legal forms of making coin. Primarily assassination. She has grown in notoriety in the darker circles, leading to more demand of her business. She's gotten it to the point where she doesn't do it for money, though. It's come time to make good on her vendettas.

Personality
cunning
Artemisia is not stupid by any means. She couldn't have gotten this far if she were. Over the years, she's grown better and better at reading people and what they want, which often gives her the upper hand with negotations.

Her tongue is silvered, just ask anyone. Her charming mannerisms and patterns of speech are able to lull just about anyone into a false sense of security. It has won her the graces of the public and the heart of hearts of her lovers.
particularity
Artemisia has a specific way she wants it done, and that is how things will be done, no more and no less. This attention to every detail can be maddening for anyone who is not her, but she insists that it is her way or the high way.
impatience
Impatience does not a good lady make, if you ask anyone. Ask Artemisia, though, and she says that is right bullshit. She has little room in her life for those who are unwilling to cooperate with her, and will get annoyed at their stubborn nature. Rightfully so, in her opinion.
sly
Artemisia's got the gift of a silver tongue, and she knows how to use it to her advantage. She's come to the point where she's pulling many strings behind the scenes, finally able to exert the control over others that she'd been dreaming of. Not that she'd let anyone know, though. For all intents and purposes, she's just a ditzy dancer who poses no threat.

You can't get where Artimisia has gone without working hard. She has excelled far above and beyond many who aspire to be in her position, with practice day in and day out. Her skills are evidence of this, as she is considered to be a great master of dance and mercenary work.

Summary
Artemisia's first half of life was on the streets. Her and her mother picked up odd jobs to stay fed and warm, though more often than not, they would go cold and hungry on most nights. Her mother's health was exceptionally poor, but she still poured all she could into Artemisia, hoping that her daughter would have a much better life than she. Little trinkets, ribbons, and food were bestowed on Artie whilst she grew increasingly weaker, much to the chagrin of her daughter. Eventually, she passed while Artie was still young, leaving her in the care of a friend. This friend was exceedingly kind to a grieving Artie, who lashed out and ran away several times, vowing to make it on her own.
So she returned to the streets she knew, trying her best to make a living. Eventually, she discovered that she could dance, and quite well. She sold most of the things her mother had given her over the years, save two earrings she would keep for the rest of her life. Doing this and dancing led her to save up enough money to go to an academy, where she excelled in her skills further. From here, Artie went on to dance for lords and ladies, working her way up the nobility ladder for clients. During this time, she was still struggling for money, and had to do what she could to get by. Naturally, this meant some were eager to exploit her vulnerability. She was said to dance before Prince Rhys themself, though did not impress them. Artie grew tired of pretending for the spoilt rich, and so turned to the underbelly of the world. Here, she found lucrative work as an assassin, especially for the high-paying clients. Her skills as a dancer and assassin grew, and tales of her spread throughout the country.
Artie does not wish for fame, though, and tries to keep it low profile. She tries to lead a normal life (as normal as she can) with her partner, Azrael, whom she met after her descent into more serious crime. Though he tries to steer her clear of it, she will still foray into the darkness if it means settling the score with another who wronged her.
Related
relationship Azrael is Artemisia's favorite, hands down. The two had a rocky start to their relationship, but are now inseperable. Initially he thought she was too much of a "sinner", but she eventually managed to catch up to him and his mind has since changed. He's still a little uptight, though.
relationship Chicory is a little too harsh for Artemisia's tastes. She is decidedly unpopular, though her skills are on bar with Artemisia. They have a sort of un-friendly rivalry, but will put aside their squabbles and get to work.
relationship Artemisia does not like suck-ups to royalty, even if she does work for them herself. Ishtar is a little too sympathetic to them for her liking, but she will let Artemisia in on vital information. She also makes a killer peach iced tea, so there's that.
