ABOUT THE CHARACTER
↳ Diamond City's sweetheart and favorite dumb blond.
Whether it's as a football star, the track captain, last year's quilting bee champion, an aspiring photographer, the guy who knows a guy, a general laborer in the summer and local shelter volunteer in the winter, or just another teenaged miscreant, it's impossible not to know Brian somehow if you live in Diamond City. Brian's never one to make himself scarce, and he juggles a bizarre patchwork of hobbies in an effort to meet as many faces as he can in his hometown... and find a reason not to go home at the end of the day.
Home hasn't been the same since the passing of his mother and little sister. His siblings don't speak to each other except when brushing shoulders in the home's hallways that tower with hoard. His father deteriorated into a drunk, stumbling through the front door at odd hours of the night when the bars finally closed, his very flesh reeking of booze. More often than not, Brian stays the night on friends' couches or floors. His many connections make it easy, but turbulent, and he doesn't know how long he can couch surf before friends start wondering why he lingers.
Regardless of his homelife, Brian seeks a better life for everyone in his family and works year-round to bring in money to support them. Family man first and foremost, only recently has he begun hiding anything for himself.
TLDR; Brian is a well-loved face in Diamond City with a wide range of hobbies and friends from all walks of life. His home is troubled due to the loss of his mother and sister, with his father struggling with alcoholism. Despite staying with friends to avoid his difficult home, Brian remains focused on work to support his family and restore their historic name to its former prestige.

TRACKING
( ) the art of tireless pursuit
With Houston as a pseudo-mentor, Brian picked up tracking and trapping in the wasteland while following along on bounty hunts, blood sports, and debt collections. He enjoys a chase, and the satisfaction of a long trail finally concluding. While he has more to learn, he's sure everything he learned in the wastes will help him when he's inevetably gone with the draft.
MECHANICAL AND TECHNICAL APTITUDE
( ) basic mechanical maintenence, crafting, and blacksmithing
As a Tuner, Brian is inherently creative and views the world through the whimsical kaleidoscope of an inventor's mind. Although his love for creating took a backburner after his mother's passing for all his new hobbies, he's never stopped making little things for his friends. Of course, he'll never tell you when a gift is enchanted, but rest assured he's never made anything with ill intentions.
DIPLOMACY
( ) being the guy who knows a guy
Naturally charismatic, Brian excells in leadership and conflict resolution. He's a born negotiator, and graduates from organizing and managing group tasks at school and around town, to eventually taking control of the Northern Territories and building world alliances in the distant future. He'll eventually work hand in hand with renown diplomat General Finch to restore their divided country.
A turbulent home, childhood spent in wartime, and Brian's flightiness from the family have bound together and left a large rift between these siblings. Despite the tension, they've realized how far they've drifted and try to fix their relationship as they enter adulthood together even if Brian thinks it's too late to reach normal. The two can sometimes be seen together around the halls of Diamond High and at the local automat downtown while running errands for the household.
TLDR; Siblings trying to fix things.
To his horror, within the first hour of the pair meeting, Malia discovered a lonh-held secret of Brian's that could very easily get him killed if public. Desperate to cover himself and his family, Brian immediately began pulling every trick he knew to befriend her in case it saved him from being exposed by this stranger with no reason to protect anyone but herself.
She saw through him, but his kindness beforehand kept her quiet, and soon his constant presence won her over and genuine friendship bloomed into eventual romance. When Brian returned from the draft, he vowed to marry her. While they wait for the day, they enjoy exploring together, failing miserably to learn how to cook, and sneaking around under Malia's over-protective father's nose.
TLDR; Highschool sweethearts gone wild?!
After a physical fight with his father left him kicked out of the house, a much younger Brian wandered beyond the city walls with nowhere else to go but the wasteland outside. The first person he met was Houston, and after his second fight that day, Houston took pity on the reckless, stringy boy and let him hitch a ride to the neighboring city. What was meant to be one drive turned into a series of adventures across the wasteland as Brian tagged along the odd jobs Houston picked up as a vagabond, and they spent a year together before Brian returned home to Diamond City. They keep in touch only by letters and sparse phone calls from Houston since he has no permanant home to write to, and sometimes Houston drops by the city for a visit.
TLDR; A runaway and a vagabond become friends.
Tommy and Brian have a simple, friendly relationship having grown up on the same block in the outer wall and attending the same schools for most of their lives. While they've known of each other for years, they only became friends after Brian returned from the wastelands as a much more confident version of himself; now able to brave the rigid social climate of Diamond City and put himself out there. Brian often stays over at Tommy's house to avoid his father, and they frequently go outside the city to camp with Houston and the other young vagabonds Brian met in the wasteland. Together, Tommy provides a safe, down-to-earth environment for Brian, and Brian offers the much needed adventure a shut-in like Tommy rarely sees.
TLDR; Extrovert and his adopted introvert.
