›› Byg has square face, strong jaw, and big nose. Her lips are full and she smiles easily, but rarely with teeth showing.
›› Her eyes are very dark brown, almost black. Her lashes are dark and eyebrows thick.
›› She has thick, dark brown, slighly wavy hair, with long bangs. She usually wears it on a low ponytail.
›› She is tall and strong, with wide shoulders. She is pretty muscular, but in a soft way.
›› She has a long scar on the back of her left thigh.
›› As a horse Byg is a pretty typical North Swedish Horse: a draft horse with a big head and wide hooves. She's red bay, the coat is darker on her back and neck, light under the belly, around the eyes and muzzle, and on the long feathers on her legs (pangaré). On her forehead she has a big diamond shaped star. Like her hair, her black mane and tail are also thick and slightly wavy.
›› It took me ages to come up with a name for her I would be happy with. I tried e.g. Bubba, Brunhilde, Borghild, Bob, Bygg, Bug..., before finally settling on Brynhild aka Byg. (..not pronounced big, but with a finnish Y)
›› Although there aren't countries as we know them in the world of New Start, thinking in modern terms Byg's maternal grandmother is Norwegian, maternal grandfather is Czech, and paternal grandparents are Indian.
›› She has some siblings, but they are that much younger than her so they never were very close.
nice / compassionate / chill
›› Byg is a pretty laid back dude. She is very patient and doesn't stress unnecessarily, and would rather sort things out by discussing rather than arguing let alone fighting. She is always happy to extend a helping hand to those in need and stand up for the little guy.
›› Frustration makes her turn into horse. She can control the feeling pretty well, and is able to shift almost whenever she wants, and rarely shifts by accident.
›› Young Byg has a short temper. She wants to be a world class boxer, but her family really doesn't support that dream.
›› She starts working in her parents' restaurant/diner/whatever, and over the years mellows down a lot and realizes she doesn't actually need anything more from her life.
›› While dealing with a particularly frustrating client, she ends up shifting in the middle of the restaurant, gets caught and is sent to Torni.
›› She cleans and tries to defend those who need it, and joins a gang that's all about offering more safety to even to the weaker ones in the violent world of Torni.

A dystopian future where some people, shifters, turn into animals when they feel certain feelings. They are deemed dangerous by the Society and if they are caught they are locked up in a prison tower Sopeuttamislaitos 52, more simply known as Torni + where they supposedly should learn to control their shapeshifting.
In reality it's more like a prison with no guards and no contact with the outside world. No one has ever been let out. Over the years Torni has developed it's own society with its own jobs and gangs and customs.
Byg has been in Torni for about three years.
›› New Start †
(lit. the tower)
Torni consists of twelve floors. The first floor, a lobby or a plaza of sorts, where shipments of supplies and new prisoners arrive in big storage containers. The second floor, the rec room, has everything you need to pass the time from instruments to a gym. The third and ninth floors are dedicated to bazaar-like marketplaces.
4th, 5th and 6th floors are filled with small living quarters, called cabins. Since there aren't nearly enough of them for everyone, usually the way to get one is to forcibly evict the previous owners.
The seventh floor, Fortuna, is the area for showers, saunas and pools – and prostitution. The eight floor, Ruokala, is the dining hall where everyone gets one free daily meal. The tenth floor, Pimeä, is the carbage dump floor of Torni – but there is also a theatre room that has a small stage and projector for watching films (mostly propaganda and useless how-to videos).
The eleventh floor, the Luxury floor, and the roof above it, the Garden, are accessible only for the Leader and their gang.
Below all of these are the Cellar floor, which has the Infirmary, and even below that is a half-built parking carage.
