Profile
Description
A subspecies of Typhlosion that have made the tundras of the world their home. Due to this choice in habitat they have undergone biological changes to better endure the fridgid clime. In the process they have acquired a second type, the Ice-typing grants a robust physical defense among other developments as a fair tradeoff for their speed. What appears to be a glossy coat is actually the sheen of many ice crystals with each hair coated in a thin layer of ice. Prickly to the touch some are sharp enough to break skin serving as a nasty surprise in battle against contact fighters.
Biology
Other than external differences this variant also has a reworked physiology. A peaceful coexsistence between its innate fire with the newfound frost thanks to a second organ. The organ produces a rapid vaporizing chemical when exposed to oxygen (nitrogen) which is funnel through a gland then out a duct inside the mouth in a pressurized stream. To prevent the likelihood of interal damage through the mixing of contents there is a flap within the duct that acts as a stopper, so to seperate the gland responsible for producing a flammable liquid (butane) from causing a chemical reaction.
The buildup of fat and a thicker coat is another notible adaption to better insulate itself from temperatures that can drop below freezing. Beneath this are taunt muscles connnected by resilient sinew from when a Quilava now for strenght than speed. Overall, its inner fire maintains their body heat for long treks while its slow metabolism staves off hunger for days to weeks.
Entries
- Due to living in frigid climes the ports on its upper back have cooled. Dried and cracked these see little use in this environment because the growth of a thicker coat provides enough warmth from the cold.
- With ice being their primary type over fire this subspecies has discovered new ways in weaponizing it. Claws encrusted in thick ice have scarred many fellow predators and opponents with a freezer burn.

Type Effectiveness
Although it has some of the same weaknesses as its fiery counterpart this variant has more survivability in-combat thanks in part to its high defense and health.
Learnset
Their time in harsh snowy landscapes have taught them to toughen up and get creative in order to survive. Although they no longer have a vast array of Fire-type moves it is a small sacrifice for the ablitiy to now learn Ice, Fighting, and a few Water-type due to the conversion covering for their weaknesses.
Evolution / Forms
Typhlosion is the final evolution of Cyndaquil after Quilava. There are no further evolutions or discovered forms.
