Bonbon's Links
Bonbon has known Cervus since they were young children just starting elementary school, and he was the only one that never judged Cervus for his angry outbursts when picked on. He watched how empty and distant Cervus always was, how he always kept to himself, so Bonbon decided to approach and keep him company, leading to him becoming Cervus' first true friend. When he and Cervus found out that Bonbon was chosen to be his vassal a few years later, the two of them were ecstatic, even if Cervus' parents never let Bonbon or his family live at the palace to try and hide the cruelty going on in secret. Bonbon has seen how Cervus has been treated over the years, he saw how Cervus was beginning to lose himself in his instability and rage, and tried to be the single thing Cervus could cling to in his life. And when he learned that Cervus was free of his parents' cruelty after their deaths, Bonbon was beyond relieved and happy. From then on, these two only grew closer and closer, and are the best of friends. Bonbon will NEVER willingly betray Cervus or his trust, and will always be by his side to help him create a better world.
Cervus was genuinely confused and annoyed when Bonbon approached him all those years ago, but still gave him the benefit of the doubt despite the nagging in his head, and for once, it worked out in his favor and he found his first true friend. He allowed Bonbon to see the more chipper and casual side of him, allowed himself to put down his walls a little bit and not be immediately put on edge when asked if he's alright, and allowed himself to confide in Bonbon a little bit about his problems. He was so excited about Bonbon being chosen as his vassal so long ago that he even showed his excitement around his parents, and that fact sticks with him to this day. Cervus will readily tell anyone that asks that Bonbon is the best vassal ever, and he couldn't be more thankful to have Bonbon by his side like this. These two have a forever ride-or-die bond between them.
When Bonbon met Erasmus at the university they attended for their training, he knew he wanted to get closer to him. His kindness and gentle nature that's hidden by that serious air is something that makes Bonbon feel safe and assured, and trusted Erasmus right away. He enjoys spending as much time with Erasmus as possible on the rare occasions he joins Cervus on trips to Celestae for meetings, and is growing even closer to him as time goes by. If Bonbon were to think about it a lot, he could even say that he has a crush, but he doesn't wanna jump to confessing that too soon and risk anything.
The happy-go-lucky and friendly nature of Bonbon almost radiated off of him the first time Erasmus saw him, and when Bonbon didn't hesitate to come right up to him to greet him and introduce himself, he decided to see where this could go. He finds Bonbon to be a very nice balance for his own seriousness, and doesn't feel forced to try and stay in a better mood around him, and even allows himself to relax a bit in Bonbon's company. He tries to keep it hidden, but he couldn't help but fall for Bonbon too because of his unwavering kindness towards him and everyone around them. If Bonbon were to ask him, he would reveal it, and if an offer for a relationship were given, he'd jump to it.
Bonbon was the one to greet Cotton Candy on his first arrival to Uvaria, and lead him to Cervus for their intended business. As embarrassed as he can get about it sometimes when saying it, the very first thing that had him wanting to get to know Cotton Candy more was his name, and he was immediately invested when he was offered a basket of sweet treats for his kindness. He's since become good friends with Cotton Candy, though, and thinks he's a sweetheart through and through.
He was surprised to see Bonbon the first time he came to Uvaria to speak with Cervus, but was immediately feeling at home when he saw how bright and cheery Bonbon always is, and the good relationship he has with Cervus. As a thank-you gift for the kindness, he gifted Bonbon a big basket of sweet treats, and still feels honored that Bonbon loved it all so much, even if he can still be a bit thrown off by just how much Bonbon can eat in a single sitting without any sort of sickness.
The first time he saw Ember at the university they attended for their training, his first thought was "who IS this adorable little guy? I gotta know who he is!" and introduced himself. He absolutely adores how sweet and gentle Ember is, and when he heard from Ember about the bias in his family based on hair color and desire to end that tradition, the respect and adoration grew rapidly. He loves to train with Ember to perfect the use of his fire magic, and when they aren't training, he's doting on Ember and cuddling on him. He just can't resist, not with those squishy little cheeks!
He really likes kind and brave people, and the energy Bonbon gave off when introduced to him at the university was one that made Ember feel super happy and encouraged. He loves to train with Bonbon, and thinks it's super fun because of how they both encourage each other so much, and always loves when he gets Bonbon's hugs and doting. He always makes sure to hug back extra tight, and even allows a little squishing of his cheeks once in a while as a sort of repayment gesture for all the kindness he's given.
Reaper's one of his favorite training partners, because she's not one to hold back much, and despite her seriousness throws out a few taunts and snarky remarks in good faith to keep him feeling competitive. He doesn't mind that he never wins against her, because he's still getting stronger in the process and also having a lot of fun since she's a good sport about things.
Bonbon's one of the more excitable of her training partners, but in this case, she doesn't mind and finds it a nice change of pace. Normally overly cheery and rambunctious people annoy her, but Bonbon has key traits that make him enjoyable to be around, even if she's still annoyed by it if he's being too loud and obnoxious for her tastes.
Bonbon met Daisy after protecting someone from an attack while out and about, and Daisy hurried over after the commotion had passed and offered to heal them both up. He thinks she's super sweet, and loves how creative she is with her hobbies. He proudly displayed the hand-embroidered art she made for him one day as a thank-you gift and display of her friendship the moment he got home from his visit to her house, and takes a look at it when he wants a quick pick-me-up.
After seeing Bonbon hurry in and protect someone without hesitation while out and about, she wanted to help patch them up and compliment Bonbon on his heroic act. She befriended him quickly after, and finding out that he's Cervus' vassal only further eased up the process. She enjoys how cheerful he is, and admires how quickly he jumps to helping anyone in need without a second thought about it.
He saw Midoriya out at a restaurant one day participating in the same food challenge as him, and got extra excited and competitive. Amazed that the two of them came out in a tie as the winner of the challenge of eating the dishes the fastest, he felt like he should congratulate Midoriya and introduce himself. These two are extremely close and are happy to be in each other's mere presence, and love eating snacks while they chat about anything that comes to mind during their hangouts.
He thought he would be the only one standing out among the few participating in the food challenge at his favorite restaurant, but when Bonbon hurriedly came over to join in, he admittedly became pretty excited. He got even more excited to see that the two of them came out with a tie as the winner, and happily congratulated Bonbon. He thinks Bonbon is really cool, and loves to share his snacks with him. If someone says Bonbon's name around Midoriya, his tail is sure to wag.
He first saw Rosary interacting with Erasmus, and any friend of Erasmus is a friend of his! He knows Rosary has it rough and doesn't quite like the over-the-top optimism, so he dials down around him. He understands that Rosary had it rougher than most other people out and about, so he won't be making the situation even worse for him when he's trying to open up.
Bonbon's extremely loud and excitable attitude in general is a bit annoying to him if he were honest. How can someone be SO happy about life, despite all the cruelty? He knows Bonbon sees all the chaos, greed, and violence, yet he still thinks so highly of it all? He doesn't understand it, and it makes him angry. Though deep down...he finds the slightest bit of comfort in it, and not having things forced onto him to try and make him fit in with the rest of the pitiful peer groups of society.
Lilac is a good guy, he just tries WAY too hard to act like he knows what he's doing and has a place of authority. Bonbon always gets a kick out of joining Cervus in pranking him, but never means anything truly malicious with it. He also can't help but feel secondhand embarrassment with how badly Lilac is trying to move on from Cervus, and how horribly he flirts with people.
He's extremely jealous of Bonbon, truth be told. A darker part of his mind says that Bonbon doesn't deserve that place at Cervus' side, when he's nothing but a gluttonous oaf, but the rest of him knows that Bonbon was Cervus' saving grace and only true support system he had growing up. He can't fault Bonbon for that, he knows, and he's just glad Cervus is happy with him despite the jealousy eating at him sometimes.
