Nick is an accountant who works at an advertising firm located in Castelia City, Unova. He has a practical outlook on life, prioritising financial security and job prospects over interpersonal relationships. His crown achievement was being good in school, something that landed him his nice entry level job with a high-profile advertisement company in the city. He is a dedicated employee, almost always occupying his time with work-related tasks. Although he definitely loves Pokemon, he's never really entertained the thoughts he's had of abandoning a practical, stable job to follow the siren call of adventuring with Pokemon. He thinks he's successful in life, but he's actually bored, sad, unfulfilled, and repressed; burying himself in his work (and, previously, school) has been his way of coping with the loss of his sister eight years prior.

Nick uses Tranquill to commute back and forth to work, to send messages, and to generally keep him company around the office and at home. Although she's very obedient, she's playful and fun-loving, and happy to play around when she's able to, especially if her antics can cheer Nick up.

Flower the Munna, m | Sassy nature / A little quick-tempered.
Flower was the first Pokemon Nick captured for himself, after the Munna had accidentally scared his younger sister, Mia. She was the one to give Flower his nickname, which stuck despite Nick not generally giving his Pokemon nicknames. Though he can be a bit demanding, Flower is loyal to Nick and absolutely adores Mia.
