Ame was raised to place the health of his country above all else, and the most blaring trait of this would be his courage. Though he may not always be confident in his own actions towards his kingdom, he is patient and kind enough to listen to his people and work out any problems. Many will say that his charisma is what got him to where he is today, but he is still rather adamant that his kingdom prospers the way it does because of working together, even if his own integrity is rather lacking.

Closing the Rift

Ame Torre, prince of Derot and heir to the throne, had dreams. Dreams that showed him other people, other walks of life; dreams that showed him and those people fighting together to save the world from something he couldn't yet understand.

Waking in life, he found those dreams to come true; he was part of a prophecy called the Nine, a group of dreamers who were chosen by the gods in order to protect one specific god. He found this out from a fortune teller, a young lady known as Banri, who happened to be one of the people he saw in his dream. She agreed with him, and made no mistake - the fate they had been bestowed was one she foresaw since she was a girl. In due time, they were met with a Witch, a prince from another land and his guard, two lovers, a seeker of justice, and lastly, someone from another realm altogether. They came together, and set out to find the reason why.

The witch and Banri spoke with the gods for guidance, the justice seeker and the guard helped train the others in the way of the sword, and Ame.. Tried to keep the peace. He quickly found out there was controversy in such a group working together; after all, if two princes of different kingdoms were to end up missing, what would happen? Who would be blamed? Who would be believed?

So Ame quelled those fears whenever he could as his group worked closer towards their goal. And, in the meantime, he made quick friends with those in it; the witch, Juniper, especially. She, along with the help of the princess from the other realm, led him to finding out more about his bloodline - the Turtle birthmark in particular - and in turn, he assisted them in any way that he could. Even if it meant turning a blind eye to murders..

However, in the end, they completed their goal; the Child was reignited, and the Rift sealed shut, ensuring protection for another thousand years. He made some sad goodbyes to those in the group that could not stay around, and offered hospitality to those who could use it whenever. With that, he returned home, ready to face anything next.

Desolation

In the years that followed his group's success in reigniting the Child, many things happened to Ame. He ascended to the throne not long after his father fell ill, and though with a heavy heart, he promised to uphold his father's name and continue letting the kingdom prosper. New council members were assigned, and he welcomed back his brother with open arms after Artair had spent the better part of three years traveling the land. And, he even married.. one of the Cascan princesses. It was arranged, and both parties agreed that chasing their own loves was more important. For a time, everything was fine.

Until it.. wasn't.

Stress caught up to Ame in the form of insomnia and episodes of passing out after days of no sleep. For a while he was practically bedridden, leaving the kingdom in the hands of his wife and council. As he was, he wasn't aware of what was happening to Derot.. and who was to blame for it.

Ame found out that many citizens of his kingdom were being forcibly removed from their homes in the city, including childhood friends of his and his lover, Beau. Confused and a little outraged, he turned to his council to ask the reasoning for this; when even they didn't give him a proper answer, he turned to his brother to see if he knew anything. As it turns out, his wife, Talissa, had made a new law that stated anyone who wasn't a native Derotian was to move out.. and now the city was nearly empty. Betrayed, he challenged Talissa to a duel, wielding nothing but his sword and shield, and she her lance. In their match, she exposed her plan to kill him to take over the kingdom for Casca; and she nearly succeeded, if not for a lucky swing from him. Shortly after the duel, he turned back the law, refusing to let the people dear to his heart be turned away as if they were enemies. And so, he worked harder to undo this mistake.

Ame was hopeful that this would be the only bad incident. And it was.. for a while. Artair fell ill for a winter, but was able to spring back - pun not intended - once it was warmer out. But... he wasn't exactly the same as he was before. His brother seemed distant, and would take a while to respond, but he was still the same Artair deep down. Ame felt no need to worry so much about his brother.

It turns out that was the worst decision he could make. Soon, his brother went missing for weeks at a time, only showing up every now and then - and then one day, the sky erupted in dark flames. Artair had declared war using the Astral Plane. Ame and his friends only had a short amount of time to stop him...

Beau

Beau was one of Ame's childhood friends, and his first lover. He stuck with him through thick and thin, even when both of them couldn't see each other for a time. There was a lot of controversy at first regarding the two publicly being together; however, once Talissa was out of the picture, there was a lot of more acceptance from their peers, along with other citizens coming out safely.

Juniper

First meeting her in the quest to close the Rift, he at first was wary of the witch. However, she soon showed to be a great ally, with the ability to transport their group to and from the Astral plane when necessary. Now she is one of his closest friends, and was the one to warn him about one more challenge being ahead. Though at first he brushed it off, now he must face the truth... and hope that he can repay her for all she's done.

Artair

Ame's younger brother and childhood best friend; he left for a few years after their journey into the Rift, traveling the world. When he came home, he helped Ame protect their kingdom from someone who wanted to use them as puppets, before falling ill shortly after. He appeared to make a comeback, but something about him changed.. He no longer was a brother Ame knew. The ending result was a rift in their relationship deeper than death.
