Ame Torre

Mistreated colleagues make the most baneful of enemies, do they not?

Forgetting

Ame Torre

He/Him . Galarian . Field researcher

Ame, a young researcher coming from Galar, much like Professor Laventon himself, found community within Jubilife Village. He decided the best thing he could do for his share regarding his stay was to research Pokemon - moreso, research what they may use in order to heal themselves. Berries already are a no-brainer - but what about different herbs?

He aides the nurses in the Medical Corps, working under Captain Pesselle's wing to learn the goings-on about potion making. If he's feeling cheeky, he'll prank fellow Survey Corps members with extremely bitter potions - but he's always sure to have something sweet on hand to make up for it!

All he ever wants in life is to help those in need - especially since the Galaxy Corps helped him when he needed it most. He feels like it's why he was brought to Hisui.

story

volō, ergo sum

Originally coming from the fieldlands surrounding Motostoke, the Torres settled their life within the up-and-coming city, setting aside their past - and welcoming in a new generation.

Ame is the oldest of three children to the Torre family, and as such it was his job to take after his father most. Not that he minded, as a boy; he loved going out on the water with his father's crew, and gained a love for sea-faring fairly quick. His job as the youngest on the ship was simply to record what they saw - and he loved it! The kinds of Pokemon they encountered..

As soon as he was able to take a small boat out on his own, Ame would make the trek out to the lakes just outside of Motostoke, rowing across them to observe things on his own without anyone ordering him around. In fact, he spent these trips rowing out to the small islands in order to study various plant life.. Ame had always been curious about Pokemon, but what he was most curious about is how they would care for their injured - and he knew it had to mean that they could make medicine! He was sure of it. After all, if humans could make useful medicines out of plants..

Then, one rainy day, while he was out observing on the lake, he noticed something small struggling on the edge of an island. Rowing closer, he realized it was a Pancham - and it was scrambling to not fall into the water. He didn't know if he could live if it fell in the water - yes, Pokemon were dangerous, but he had to do something! Even if he was only ten years old! So, against better judgement, he hurried his way over there and began climbing the rocky portion of the small island - trying his best to get up fast enough. And it worked! However... the Pancham didn't seem to like this strange human coming over so quickly to it; as a result, Ame got kicked by the plucky panda, sending him crashing down the slope. Thankfully, this let the Pancham get back to safety! As for Ame..

Well, now he had a broken leg to try and get back home with. Something he was just stubborn enough to do... and something that he was going to get an earful about once he got back home. Luckily for him, he'd be able to make a fast recovery, and still be able to walk for the rest of his life! So it wasn't a total disaster!

cogito, ergo sum

When Ame was old enough to go on the longer sea trips with his father, their first trip... would also happen to be Ame's last.

Storms wracked their ship while they were a few months at sea, and Ame, having freshly turned 18, was quickly relearning the old fear he used to have as a child before his first outing with his father. But he tried his best with the rest of the crew to keep the ship steady, making a promise to his father that he wouldn't let his first proper sailing be a failure. It couldn't be one - but the storms weren't subsiding. Try as they might, the crew couldn't stop the ship from rocking - nor could they stop anyone from going overboard. Ame was unlucky enough to be one of the few.

The crew spent days after the storm searching for the boy, but regretfully they had to return home.. They couldn't spend any longer out on the water without more casualty.

In that time, however, the sea - merciful as is her want - brought Ame to the shores of a beach. He lay unconscious for a while, but in his sleep, someone... or rather, something called out to him. A voice he couldn't place knowledge of that urged him to explore the land of Hisui, in search of... plates..? Before he could make sense of it, he would be found by a man known as Professor Laventon, who woke the boy with worry; after some brief introductions, Ame was then brought to Jubilife Village, where he was allowed to stay in return for his work. Seeing as he didn't know if he'd be able to make it back home, or even if his father did.. He figured he'd make a new life in Hisui, as best he could.

Of course, there were trials he had to pass in order to join the Galaxy Corps in the first place, but once he was part of the team properly, he did most of his work in the Medical Corps; what previous knowledge he knew of plants in Galar helped him here, and it even earned him a companion in the form of a Cyndaquil. In the span of time that he lived in Hisui, he would obtain a proper team of Pokemon - Typhlosion, Jolteon, Espeon, Dustox, and a Clefable. Catching an Alpha Pokemon might've been a mad man's dream, but he was just lucky enough to do it without too much injury..

Ame had respect for his Captain and Commander, as well as the Clan leaders of Hisui. The longer he stayed, the more faces and names he learned, and some he even befriended. After nearly a year since he had first ended up at the shores of this region, he felt like he was finally settling into a new life that he could enjoy for a long time.

sentio, ergo sum

It seems like every time Ame feels like he can relax, the world pulls a complete 180 and throws him into situations that he does not like.

Strange rifts in space and time have been opening up throughout Hisui, rifts that have been upsetting the Nobles - but the Galaxy Corps have been able to quell the raging Nobles without many issues, and their efforts even brought the clans of Hisui together! And yet, the large rift sitting above Mount Coronet did little to ease anyone's anxieties of what might come next.. But no one could expect just what would be happening. One day, while Ame was out in the field researching some Pokemon for the dex, the sky suddenly turned a strange color, with streaks pulsating across it. A sinking feeling settled like a stone in his gut, and all he could think about was if his friends, Sybille and Alucard, were safe..

He hurried back to Jubilife Village just in time to see Commander Kamado blaming Sybille for these events, and just as quickly exiling her from the village. He was one of the few who cried outrage at this action, but there was little he could do but hope and pray that she would return safely. Once she did, and just about everyone pressured Kamado to let her rejoin the village, things calmed down.. Until Kamado needed to pin the blame on someone else for the mystery they had yet to solve. Ame just so happened to be that person - and despite a similar outrage happening on his behalf, Ame took up the challenge. He would find out just what was going on, and do something about it, unlike what Kamado was so pleased to sit about for instead. And he would come back once he fixed it; he promised.

In his exile, he was joined by Volo, and brought to Cogita to learn about what was going on. At first, they simply offered to let him stay there in refuge, but Ame couldn't impose on them like that - and he still wanted to see for himself if he could do something. Instead, he headed for the Coronet Highlands, only having to hope he wouldn't run into anything while there.

And unfortunate for him, Garchomp are not very docile Pokemon. Least of all an Alpha.

Ame suffered large slashes across his torso, before finally being able to run away from the land shark. His last conscious decision he made, as he laid beside a snow-covered tree, was to let all of his companions out of their pokeballs. He tried to keep them calm, but he knew - he knew that he wasn't going to fulfill his promise to Sybille. All because one man was too cowardly to search something as a community.. It made him angry.

Baneful spirits a monster make. And this monster would not forget who wronged him.

Acquaintence, Trainer..?

Ame isn't sure how he ended up in... Paldea, and he's not sure how to get back. All he knows is this girl somehow caught him as a Zoroark, and he tries his best not to have an existential crisis over it.
