About
They do not naturally have the ability to transform into a human but through the help of potions and magic, they can acquire a human form.
Koral is a well-known musician in both the human and mermaid worlds! They mainly focus on alt-rock and metal music but occasionally drift into other genres (though this is sometimes met with displeased fans). They have a somewhat raspy voice and I'd even compare their singing voice to The Oozes. They play both the guitar and the piano!
Born to a squid mermaid and a fish mermaid, Koral inherited traits from both. They have the tail of fish and a large squid fin in place of hair.

Trivia
- When changing their name, they basically just looked at the word coral and thought it'd look cooler with a k.
- They heavily prefer they/them pronouns but are cool with close friends or partners using they/she!
- Collar thing is an otter troll they got stuck in but then kept because it matched their aesthetic.
- Shirt probably says 'band' but you're welcome to write what ever! Personally I've been reading it as 'Baad'.
- Owns a pocket knife! It was thrown into the ocean by a human. It's possible it was dumped into the ocean for a more sinister reason... But Koral is too inoccent and genuinely has not had that thought cross their mind.
- They seperate their human and mermaid belongings as most of the land items are damaged in the water. Among these is a notebook. On the front they've written 'Koralz super cool stuff!!!'.
- They have an aquatic variation of the book which is basically half a shell that they carve into with a pocket knife. The shell has the same title as the land note book.
Design notes
- Hair in mermaid form is a big fin! It can be drawn flopped to one side, opened fully, etc.
- Has fins on their back and elbows.
- Has a part of an otter trawl around their neck.
- Wraps a piece of seaweed around their waist as a makeshift belt.
- Freckles are a mix of blue and yellow.
- Hands are claw like! Long black nails.
- Blue gradient on tail fin, ears, elbows and hands.
- Sharp pointy teeth! They're basically chunky triangles
- Has other fish hooks and bait used as earings.
- Their sclera can be drawn white! Their irises are red and their pupils blue.
- Likes wearing bracelets! These can be any colour! :D

Kyla is a fellow musician as well as Koral's girlfriend! They sometimes collaborate on songs together and attend eachothers concerts whenever possible.
Whilst Manta doesn't entierly understand the music stuff she enjoys their music and supports them fully. Manta is very physically affectionate toward her partners and is usually hugging or holding hands with one of them.
They eat plastic together < 3
Mars is undeniably the most chill out of the group who loves watching movies and snuggling with her partners. Koral often goes to her for advice.
