Lynius Wayforth is cowardly and well meaning young man who tries to further his own goals without stepping on the toes of others. generally understanding and even a little naïve at times, he tries to make himself seem more competent by learning various skills and generally trying to amass as much knowledge to have others perceive him as smart, which he genuinely is eight times out of ten. this desire to be "cool" and "heroic" has led him to concoct the signature nickname Gambit that he insists is "cool as ice", the nickname has no meaning behind it, but those that are stuck with him long enough know that he's a very lonely, emotionally volatile, and somewhat entitled person making him a literal gambit to bring along. on one hand you have a very smart and skilled individual, and on the other you might be filing a figurative restraining order against him.

Abilities:

While Gambit has no powers or magic, he is smart, able to do quick mathematic calculations or even repair technology he isn't well versed in. his inventorsmanship has lead him to be creative with various components, allowing him to construct multiple tools and weapons that give him an edge over magic uses and mutant, some of which have become main stays of his arsenal

while at first just a simple launcher, over time the Grappling gun has been able to lasso it's self around various targets and objects, automatically winch up and down, and even the wire itself has been used to act as an ultra thin, nigh invisible piano wire.
