Design Notes:

• Round, squashed face like an Exotic Shorthair
• Short, smooth fur
• Average build with slightly saggy skin
• Antennae flop forward
• Pupils are shaped a bit like little barbells rather than circles, like those of a coconut octopus
• Squiggly line markings resemble the veins on a coconut octopus
  • You can make the gradient by setting the vein layer on multiply and drawing with the lightest red in his palette
  • They're more opaque towards the tail and more transparent towards the front of the body, disappearing before they reach the head
• 8 thin tentacles with one row of glowing suckers along each one, like a glowing sucker octopus
• Fin "wings" are like the head fins on a glowing sucker octopus -- they're flexible enough to wiggle and flap
• Cyan bits (antennae, paw pads, tongue, and suckers) all glow

Character Notes:

• He taught his grandkids (especially Potato) everything they know about pranks and has no regrets!
• He's very friendly, but social interaction with anyone other than his wife exhausts him, so he likes to decompress after work by doing assorted puzzles and brain-teasers alone or in the cozy company of only his wife.
• His walls are decorated with jigsaw puzzles he's finished and framed over the years! Many of them feature nautical themes.
• He also collects cool shells, driftwood, sea glass, etc. and uses them to decorate his house.
• He's a bit of a night owl and often goes out for late-night swims after his wife has gone to bed. He finds the cool water invigorating and the solitude relaxing.
• He has a boat construction and repair company with his kid's partner, Lufti, and his good friend Harvey. He really enjoys the work, especially all the careful measuring involved! He loves that feeling of getting details Just Right while building something.
• He's the kind of guy who takes apart clocks and other small appliances and then puts them back together again for fun.
