Personality

Naive | Clumsy | Means well | Easy to excite

Elise is a naive person who always means well. Despite her clumsiness, she is easily excited and willing to help those around her. She is madly in love with the Porcelaindoll Asazel, but he doesn't seem to reciprocate her feelings quite as hard as she does. Despite this, Elise remains loyal to Asazel, always seeking to impress him and gain his affection. Her naivety often makes her vulnerable to others' manipulations, but her kind and loving nature also endears her to those who know her.

Story

Elise was raised in isolation by her metal father figure after her birth. He taught her to read and write and told her many stories about the outside world. However, every time she asked to see it with her own eyes, he would refuse. Not because he didn't want to, but because letting her go wasn't part of the plan, of which he himself knew little.
Despite her isolation, Elise lived well. She made sewing and fashion her hobbies and was never lonely, as she had his loving father and knew many fabric dolls who also had metal foster parents. Every evening, she read her favorite book series about a winged porcelain prince.
One night, she was awakened by her metal father figure, who informed her that she could now leave, but only if she didn't come back. The fabric girl refused sleepily, but her father insisted. He didn't tell her why he wanted to get rid of her and didn't give her a choice. The metal doll half-forced his only daughter out of her room and accompanied her a good distance through the nearby forest until he hugged her tightly and kissed her forehead goodbye. It had been so sudden that she couldn't formulate any words of farewell. Elise saw no tears, only her own.

The first city she entered was pure sensory overload for her. So many new dolls and impressions! When the fabric girl thinks back on that day, however, she only has one image in mind, amidst the masses of dolls walking through the busy streets: the perfect likeness of the porcelain prince from her fairy tale book. As Elise followed the stranger from a distance, she felt her heart beating fast with excitement. She was sure that he was the porcelain prince from her favorite book, and she couldn't believe her luck at finding him in real life. She approached him and introduced herself, but the stranger seemed taken aback by her sudden intrusion. He tried to walk away, but Elise persisted and followed him around the city, trying to start a conversation.
The stranger, whose name was Asazel, was not interested in Elise's company. He found her constant presence to be strange and uncomfortable, and he made it clear that he wanted nothing to do with her. But Elise was smitten with him, and she couldn't help but follow him around, hoping to win his affection. As the days went by, Elise continued to trail Asazel, even as he tried to lose her in the crowded streets. She tried to strike up conversations with him, but he was always distant and dismissive. Despite his clear lack of interest, Elise couldn't bring herself to give up on him.
During the first week, Elise lived on the streets. As it was late summer and the streets were always busy, she surprisingly didn't mind. It wasn't until Asazel learned that his stalker didn't have a home of her own that he felt pity. He invited her to temporarily stay in his apartment until she found something of her own... only Elise seemed to have missed the "temporary" part.

Her Ability

Detecting Feelings
Some Gemdolls like Elise have a glass element somewhere on their body (Elise's waist). They allow Gemdolls to use magic.
Elise can perceive emotions when she concentrates. With her focused gaze, the mist rings of other dolls change color for her, with each color representing a different emotion. The spectrum of colors is broad, and she can recognize both primary and secondary emotions, theoretically even detecting malicious intentions.

Relationships

Her True Love

Elise's favorite fairy tale is about a broken prince reborn as an angel. One day, she walked down a busy street and saw him: the angel of her favorite fairy tale. It was love on first sight - just not for him. Since Elise was homeless at this point, Asazel let her live in his flat, but was annoyed by her bursts of energy. Even though they quarrel often, ever so slightly, Asazel begins to share Elise's feelings...

Her foster Father

Orno was Elise's foster father in an isolated facility. He loved and cared for her deeply and when he had to find out that the master of the facility was planning to sacrifice Elise, he smuggled her out, resulting in his death sentence. To this day, Elise doesn't know that her father died or that she should have died in his place.
