Story
Naomichi was a member of a closed society that lived within a technologically advanced facility, hidden on the side of a deep cliff. He was a troublemaker there and didn't realize that he and the other fabric dolls were actually prisoners in the facility. In the first 10 years of his life, Naomichi was mistreated by his foster mother Utao, a cold and dangerous Metaldoll. Yet Naomichi had a rather normal live within the walls of thze facility. He studied, practiced his hobby of sewing and had a crush on the kind fabric doll Elise, but the tension built up as he learned about the upcoming ritual where every metal doll kills their as foster-child raised fabric doll... Meaning that Naomichi was about to be killed by his mother.
He started planning to escape the facility on the day of the ritual, crafting lifelike puppets of himself to use as distractions. On the stormy and rainy night of the ritual, the metal dolls started killing their fabric dolls in cold blood. Naomichi's plan of escaping was successful, but he was wounded badly by Utao who had followed him. As he fled, Naomichi dismissed his former plan and jumped off the cliff into the stormy waves to save his life.
He ended up washed ashore, where he tried starting a new life in freedom, but every day was harder than the day before as the big city tried to swallow the young man. As Naomichi hit his limit, he was taken in by another fabric doll named Dai. Together they founded the gang ToMa - a group of people with messed up backgrounds who wants to be part of something with a deeper meaning...

Relationships
They met when Naomichi was at his lowest. After his escape and without family, friends or a future, Naomichi had already given up on his life, but then he met Dai, and he became his new embodiment of hope. Naomichi idolizes Dai and would do anything for him.
Utao was Naomichi's cruel foster mother. She subjected him to physical and psychological abuse and never showed him any love. When he fled and Utao believed him to be dead, she only mourned the idea of not having killed him herself.
