Mutt (Mutt n' Night)

Mutt and Night has been best friends since the day they've met during the good ol' DeviantART days back in 2004, a relationship that started with silly pen pal letters that many years has evolved into a deep, meaningful relationship that's so unique in which they don't share with anyone else. While it is true that they've dated in the past, what they feel and experience for each other goes beyond such superficial layer of emotions. They need each other but not always in a physical sense; they need each other in a way that they balance one another out and are so deeply connected that they can simply understand without uttering a word. Night is more emotional, shamelessly open, and outspoken, whereas Mutt is more calm, grounded, and guarded, allowing them to protect each other's weaknesses with their strengths. There has been extremely dark times, life-changing events that would drive even closest of friends apart... somehow, no matter the odds and how much life stacks against them, they've always found each other in the end. Basically, they are the opposite halves of the same coin- one cannot exist without the other. This is why the label 'lifemates' was chosen to describe the unbreakable bond they have- Mutt and Night are not together romantically, but they will be there for each other with undying support, with loyality, with trust, and with love... for always.

For most of their relationship, they've lived primarily long-distance as Mutt lives in Colorado while Night in Louisiana, but in person, they're inseparable and is often seen plastered to each other. Where one goes, the other is surely to follow. To further solidify this, they have a tendency to stay connected through physical touches such as hand-holding, sitting closely together, cuddling, head-scratching, kissing, and so on. In fact, Mutt usually isn't big on physical displays with most people, but he always makes an exception for Night and would go great lengths to be close to them however he can. It may come as a surprise to you, but their relationship is actually not very sexual- while there were few intimate nights in the past and they are undeniably innappropiate and horny in conversation, they usually spend their time together without needing sex to be happy. Another reason why their relationship works so well is they share a lot of the same interests- so they can literally go for hours talking or ranting or rambling about the same shit. Because of this, there are rarely any secrets between the two of them and they usually feel comfortable and secure about going to each other for anything.

TL;DR, basically yes, they are THAT annoying friends who gotta have matching icons and using each other's sonas for their commission examples and being obnoxious with their public support for each other and being too fucking cute together (hey, not our fault that we look so damn good together).
