a law student whose brother is part of organized crime. he wants to convict him
one day his brother offers him a deal: find a certain painting for him, and Vinh Le will leave him alone (until they meet again in court one day i suppose). allegedly, the painting is stored somewhere at Thuan's university and only two people knows where. one of those people is the handsome art major Sei... oh boy
Thuan is quiet, reserved, perfectionist, driven, easily annoyed, has a bad sense of direction, cant stand loud noises, doesn't get enough sleep... and the last thing he needs right now is his brother breathing down his neck. thank god he has at least one normal sibling
his parents were first generation immigrants who came to east germany during gdr times. as the youngest of the 4 siblings, pressure to perform was off for the most part. at least from his parents' side. coming after a line of at least 2 very successful children (a fashion designer and a CEO), Thuan still feels like he has a lot he needs to live up to. losing both his parents in a freak accident when he was only 16 only worsened his feelings of inadequacy, feeling unreasonably responsible for their deaths. he also feels responsible for letting Vinh Le become a criminal (even though he was just a child in both of these situations)
