I am capable of more than you assume.
Life was not so bright for this cookie. As a teen, Bittermelon’s village was destroyed by Pomegranate and they were forced to join the Dark Army that Dark Enchantress built. Having talked back to Pomegranate, the sorceress slashed both of their eyes as punishment for defying authority. Bittermelon then later escaped, leaving the rest of the residents and avoiding the total massacre that would come to the army and the village once the Dark side lost.
As the sole survivor of the village, Bittermelon was labeled as a coward for running away and to further prove that point, they escaped to another region of Earthbread to try and abandon that past. However, whenever other Cookies would ask about the scars and Bittermelon would tell them, they quickly realized that there is nobody who really cares about what they have to say. Every response they received is either unenthusiastic grunts, silence, or pity. Eventually, Bittermelon hid more and more of themselves-- their scars, their eyes, and eventually even their voice.
Fortunately for Bittermelon, they meet Jawbreaker- a rambunctious young man with serious anger issues. Jawbreaker was far from kind or sweet at first, but there was something different about him: he hated everybody equally LMAOOOOOOO-- In Jawbreaker and Bittermelon’s first encounter, Jawbreaker challenges Bittermelon to a fight where the loser would pay off the winner’s tab. Bittermelon, delighted that someone finally didn’t treat them as a fragile object, accepts the duel, much to everyone’s surprise.
And so the two fight each other every day, enjoying the challenge each time. With Jawbreaker, Bittermelon was never pitied or treated like some special being until the two slowly become closer and more comfortable around each other until some sort of a happy ending occurs: they fall in love. Yep.
With Jawbreaker acting like a doorway to finally repairing their life and moving on from the Dark side, Bittermelon began partaking in other hobbies, making friends, and becoming more confident in themself… Perhaps, maybe even mend some tension? However, the story would not end for this interesting Cookie just yet, when the Dark side finally decides to strike back.

Jawbreaker Cookie

“He might be hard to get along with, but he’s kind deep down.”
The way these two started out is immensely contradictory to their current relationship. Both being regular visitors of a tavern, Jawbreaker was always loud and raged about absolutely nothing in particular. Eventually, after multiple visits, the two started learning more about each other and eventually created a bond. Bittermelon helps Jawbreaker rationalize, and Jawbreaker trusts Bittermelon’s judgement. (OC created by xylemblu)
Black Licorice Cookie

Having fought under Black Licorice’s command in the past, the two have a disturbing history. Bittermelon knows the true mastermind and her intentions, but Black Licorice’s actions still have no excuse. However, after realizing their similarities and common goal (taking down Darkness), the two begin to perhaps form a friendship…?
Pomegranate Cookie

Being from the village that Pomegranate destroyed, Bittermelon holds a lot of resentment towards her. They wish for the day that karma strikes her back.
