An octoling who escaped to the surface alongside Patricia shortly after the events of Splatoon, River had settled into life there pretty comfortably before a certain mishap. Left without any memories in the middle of nowhere, he wandered back to Inkopolis and is trying to piece his life back together, the only clue to his amnesia being a blurry photo and a dead tree in the wastelands he woke up beneath.
