Ephraim Elliott

Ephraim Elliott is the latest in the line of the Elliott family political dynasty.  He currently sits comfortably on the city council, but ultimately has his eyes on mayorship.  His upbringing was privileged, obtaining the best education money can buy, but the media focus on his family and the associated pressures of inheriting a family legacy have not left Elliott without his own problems.  Notably, he once had a twin brother named Elijah, who cracked under this pressure and acted out, dropping out of college, regularly generating tabloid scandals that dirtied the family name, and ultimately ending with him dying in a car accident several years ago.

The above may seem like ancient history to the media nowadays, but it hasn't stopped haunting Elliott; sometimes he feels like he was the only one that cared for his brother.  He tries to have a squeaky clean public image, but the media sometimes picks up on him drowning his problems in alcohol.  His parents are still very much around, and very much pick up on these stories as they happen--it feels like Elliott can't ever really escape the public eye, and he may very well be starting to crack as well.  He has undiagnosed depression, probably.
