William Locke owns his own firm, Locke Firm. He is also a prosecutor. He is known to many as the "Snake-Tongued Attorney" he is quick and his words are poisonous to whoever is on the receiving end. The "Viper" he is also called.

William has been helping Keith Wolfe, his apprentice, in hopes of gaining a new partner. William likes to think of Keith as if he were his own son, even though he has a daughter who he neglects emotionally and physically, taking up more and more cases rather than staying home with her.

Marissa has grown further and further from her father, she despises him because he has never given her any attention or spent time as a "family" together. Her mother's whereabouts are unknown, as she was last seen when Marissa was about four years old.

William focuses all his efforts and attention on saving others but isn't there to save his daughter from danger. And yet, he demands Marissa to take up law as a career, inciting that "if you don't go to that school to learn the law, I won't pay your tuition to any other!"

William has this idea that if his daughter, Marissa, becomes a lawyer, she and Keith can take over his firm and possibly make it a "family" firm.
