Once a human warrior was cursed by the gods for his arrogance and cruelty. Shaped like the dark turmoil of hearts, it was bound to the battlefield. Thus, a black panther spirit resides in the deep forests of the mountains. Seeking redemption for his past deeds, he protects all who lives on his forest and mountains.
Using its strength and agility, the panther secured the safety of all under its reign. Its sleek coat blend with the night, rendering it invisible in the darkness. Not that this is needed, as it is able to transform into a human or a shadow at will. With eyes that glowed with a mystical moonlight, it could see through illusions and detect malevolent forces.
More than once it fought off marauding bands of demons and even more commonly it battles with those who seek to challenge and consume its spirit. As a result he was long since set free, yet he dutifully lingers. In gratitude, the people of the mountain built a shrine in its honor and continue to offer prayers and sacrifices to ensure the panther's protection. They believe the creature was sent by the gods to protect them from evil spirits and wild animals.
