The Soul Prince, also known as Prince Dara Kœ̆m of The Barren Kingdom, is the ruler of the planet.
Dara is a middle child in the seven child family raised by the King and Queen. He was the only child in the family to not bear any magical wielding abilities, which meant that, not only was he not born with magic, but he could never learn it either. The king thought of him as a burden to the family's presence and separated him from his siblings as soon as he and the Queen knew of his magic deficiency.
After being disowned for being the only non-magic wielder in the royal family, he took it upon himself to prove his family and subjects wrong; that he could wield magic. He broke into the Magic History Museum in the dead of night and stole two powerful but forbidden artifacts: the staff of Soth and the locket of Kolab, these having belonged to two of the most revered royals of the same names in the planet's history.
Dara trapped his entire family’s souls (except one of his younger siblings) in the realm of the locket and took the throne for himself, forcing all who lived on the planet to bow before him or be trapped within the locket.
