{short bio}
"The world needs more people who look towards the truth, and that's why I'm here."
It had been 8:45 in the morning when they had found him, a man once missing now found half dangled over the dining room chandelier, the mahogany table drenched in a pool of his leaking blood.  It had stained everything, from the tablecloth, to the collared shirt he had been wearing, and even the edges of the nearby curtains, left mysteriously torn on the ground.  When the first letter arrived at the Nakamura household, Minato watched the police explain that it was simply a burglary gone wrong.  The neighbours, however, would whisper that it was a local cartel, saying that there had been rumours of a body left on a metal fence on the outskirts of the city not too long ago.

Mr. Nakamura had been a solitary man, living in a decently sized apartment without even a servant for company.  From what Minato had remembered of their uncle, he had been a caring man, always treating his brother’s family to dinner with dessert - an extravagant meal for a poor family.  Sure, he might have been a little sheepish and aloof - no doubt thanks to the sheep blood that ran through his veins - but he had been perfectly normal all the same.  Thanks to his occupation as a fairly popular novelist, such luxuries were available to him.  Minato has never seen the scene of the murder, of course, but such an incident had not frightened them, but instead instilled the young hybrid with an insatiable lust of curiosity.  Sure, hybrids were not particularly liked, and hate crime was rampant, but what nagged at their mind was the way it happened.  Why kidnap him? Why come back, and leave such a rampantly violent display?  Moreover, why kill a beloved novelist?

As a child, they delved into their uncle’s old mystery novels for an answer.  When that didn’t work, Minato began to read more, and more, and more.  Before they knew it, a twelve year old was walking up to the local library and asking for an extensive textbook on criminal psychology - a shock to their parents, and anyone who happened to stumble in on the view.  It was around that age Minato had come to the conclusion they wanted to be something like a detective.  After some pushing and prodding about the Academy and how that would be the closest way to get to a similar career, Minato's parents finally relented, on the condition that they would write letters every month back home.  Finally content that they were set on the path they wanted to take, they stepped into the transport vehicle without a second thought.  After a short wave, the vehicle started to rumble with the sound of the click and turn of the keys.

Their lip curled.  Minato wasn't going to waste this chance - not for Uncle.
