cesca

a constantly-exhausted archivist for maite's public library, who seems to place much more importance on his work than his own well-being. though he can be a bit sharp and sarcastic at times, it's mostly to avoid the pitfalls that he's found to come from deeply caring for others. in mourning for the loss of his recent relationship, despite knowing that it was not a healthy one.

cesca grew up an only child on a totally different continent, far to the north. his parents were highly intellectual sorts, and they raised a similarly intellectual child, with a particular interest in history and sociology.

after finishing his early studies, he went on to higher education, moved to the south to attend school there, and stayed there after finishing. he started working immediately after school in his preferred field, from what started as an internship during school. it was essentially what he and his parents dreamed of.

however, shortly into his time at his job, he became involved with the son of a moderately-influential politician. totally fine, except there was a bit of an issue, which was that said son was, well, already married. because cesca was constantly being told things like "my wife knows, and she's fine with it," he didn't think it was a problem, even though he was also told not to tell anyone. he was young and in love and...not much the smarter for it, sadly.

after multiple months of secret on-and-off stuff, they ended up breaking it off. it wasn't exactly pleasant, it was kind of messy, and for cesca, it was kind of devastating.

after that all happened, cesca ended up taking a new job, outside of government work, and moving away to the city of maite some distance away. whether or not it's enough of a distance to put everything behind him...who knows?

• cesca is short for francesca; he likes this shortened version of his old name, even now, which is why he kept it.
• he dresses like he still lives in a much colder region. also dresses a bit formally for his job. it's personal taste.
• he has been considering getting a side job, even though he already has very little free time.
  
• primarily interested in men at least ten years his senior.
  
• his desk is a mess. his coffee table at home is also a mess.
• he drinks to deal with his feelings. also has a habit of picking at his skin when nervous/agitated. he tries to stay (mentally) busy/occupied as much as possible to avoid those things.
• people who find out his full name and call him fran are at the top of his shit list for all eternity forever.
