About

Appearance

Jericho is a Vincaelos, meaning they are a tall (7’2”) masked humanoid with velvet fur, elongated limbs, a tail and horns. Their mask is blue-purple and bare with only eye ornamentation (the left being leaf-shaped and the right being leaf-shaped with two prongs). Under their mask they look like a cow with a short snout and rounded ears. They have three eyes with yellow sclera and purple irises, one of the left and two on the right. They have two deep blue horns. On their neck and torso they have deep blue, the same color as their horns, bony protrusions that look like ribs. In the middle of their chest they have a heart-shaped bony patch. Their paws have long deep blue claws and their feet have deep blue hooves. Their tail is short and cow-like, with a twilight blue tuft of fur.

Personality

Jericho is a very sociable being, loving to see new places and meet new people. They tend to be naive and innocent of many things. They often can’t read other people, even their own people, and don’t notice if they may be too overbearing. They never mean any harm, the idea that they can never comes across to them. They are very flighty, jumping from things that make them bored. Things that don’t make them bored keep their attention for a long while.

History

Jericho never found much interest in library-keeping or growing things on their home planet. They had difficulty really interacting with their own people, to their own frustration. They were assigned the simple task of going to other planets and gathering information. Their first few assignments were done with ease and they were happy to find something they liked to do. On their next assignment, their ship had been, unbeknowst to anyone, somewhat damaged and when they went to land on Earth, they did not land but rather crashed near Roswell, New Mexico (though was not THE Roswell Incident).

At first they were scared at the idea of being stranded but their fears were alleviated for a time when they found how interesting a place they set down at! These people were just fascinated in aliens!

After a time, they began to travel, able to stay out of the eye of people and eventually made it to the Pacific Northwest. There, they met Eddie who they currently stay with.

Skills

As a Vincaelos, Jericho has an impeccable sense of music that extends beyond their native language. However, human music confuses them at times as it sounds like their native language.

They have a more reliable memory than a human, able to recall small details nearly perfectly.

Due to a chip in them, they know all languages the Vincaelos have recorded, which includes English.

Trivia

  • They chose the name Jericho for themselves only because they thought it sounded cool. Their true name is more like a melody, which they thought would be difficult to communicate to Earthlings. Their specific name is a cheerful flute melody.
  • They love tourist traps and gift shops, intrigued by all the little trinkets and baubles.
  • They are very clueless to all things sexual and romantic, as in Vincaelos culture, neither are deemed terribly important. They did exist but only few partook in it.
  • Their claws are retractable.
  • They think Silly Bands are the coolest as well. The rocket ship ones are their favorites.
  • Jericho’s original concept was of a malicious eldritch alien being who deceived others. However, most of this concept would get transferred to Mirage.
