Created as a red herring for some love scandal subplot of Fu Xiong but never got used, was overall built on the helpful npc trope for his sect but with some dark twist backstory that requires the player to look more closely, also because I love to draw androgynous men all dolled up so why not make a character specify for that.

Born in a royal officials lineage, his family was quite peculiar among their relatives with his father refused to take in more concubines and retired from the political scene prematurely. Xiazui - named by his mother who was madly in love at the time herself - was the family only child yet not pressured into taking any training to become a royal officials like his cousins, instead only participated in calligraphy and archery as a side hobby.

Being at home fulltime and living off his saving and properties rewarded by the emperor himself, Mr.Su supposedly has a lot of time on his hand to spent with his family, but his present was still not that strong in Xiazui's life, when he left his manor when his son was 15 to follow some random mysterious daoist mage.

Madam Su was struck with sorrow due to the disappearance of her husband, though she did provide her son with living expenses, she basically just left Xiazui to do his own thing and neglected her son emotionally. Eventually she turned hysterical years later, saying Mr.Su had come back to visit her in her dream, announcing that he'd become an immortal deity and had advised her to forget about their marriage and move on. Xiazui was always the pampered child now lost both of his parental figure in his life, had turn to seek for validation in external relationships. There were time when he enjoyed the praising of friends who only flocked toward him for his immense inheritance and social status, but soon enough, Xiazui was attracted to something even more passionate and personal.

Spending most of his late teens with his male lover, Xiazui believed that he needn't anything else, even attentions from his mad mother, and the relationship itself had already healed him from the turmoil of his family life, until his lover eventually had to listen to his own family and got into an arranged marriage, leaving Xiazui high and dry. When confronted, the man reavealed that he saw their secret relationship more like a venture that's all about pleasure, rather than something serious. Distraught by the betrayal, Xiazui fled back to his home and became quite sick, and refused to come out of the house ever again. The news that his ex was having a newborn next year only driven Xiazui further into despair, he refused to ever get married, so he can wait for his ex to change his mind.

Madam Su passed away with many regrets when Xiazui was in his 40s without wife nor children. One day he receive a premonition of a plague hitting his hometown, killing everyone in the process which frightens him severely. In said vision, Xiazui bow before his ancestor altar and asked for some help to relieve his townmen from the disease, and was soon replied by his thought to be missing father who in fact, did indeed ascended into immortal hood. Xiazui woke up with an instruction to leave his home and move to the backwater of the forest near his place and started to learn about alchemy. Though provided with a mysterious treasure chest full of reference books, the instruction he received on what to do with the final products were always vague, ie. dumping the painstakingly hard to make elixirs unto the river flows through his town, or fanning the fume from his pill furnaces towards the west.

The progress continued for years, but no sign of plagues or just a common flu in sight had struck Xiazui's neighbors. The man on the other hand, had developed a weird skin disease like the one he saw in his dream and disfigured him abominably. Xiazui wasn't sure if the lack of plague in sight was thanks to his doing, but he couldn't return to his home then, so the man decided to stay in his hut and continued his study, ocassionally follow instructions in his dream.

Xiazui had then became a tool for his father to deliver message and running errand in the plane of mortal, he gradually succeed in taking his youthful appearance back thanks to years of alchemical practice and the help of his dead beat deity father, but there's a catch: everytime he wants to become intimate with someone, his appearance revert to that of his 40-years-old-diseases-ridden-self. The curse can only be lift when he had ascend to immortality like his father.

Xiazui was obviously not happy with how things turned out, but still went with the flow, and later joined Xiao Shi Men Sect per his father instruction and became a major pupil/mentor there.
