Summary

Kira was born to an Indian father, Ravi Veturi, and an Afro-Moroccan mother, Hala Singer, both of them scientists/engineers working for Citadel Solutions. She grew up fostering a love of science and discovery, and was especially enamoured with space and the stars. Her favorite trip of the year was when her family would take a long weekend in the fall to go camping and see the stars through a telescope. School subjects came naturally to her, and she spent a lot of time in her parents lab after school, since they were always busy and didn't want her at home alone. The engineers at CS would humour her, and she became intimately familiar with the ins and outs of engineering.

She spent a lot of time growing up buried in books and online, and never really connected with people beyond friendly acquaintances. Her parents, while they try, are kind of absent and always tied up in their work. When Citadel Solutions proposed funding a hero to be a spokesperson/outreach assistant for the company, Kira jumped at the chance. She knew of heroes, everyone had, and she knew that they were beloved. She worked day and night to fine-tune her suit and craft a persona. She was just as excited to make her debut to the world as she was to save people.

Though she had done minor missions for CS before, Cavalier really burst onto the scene to fight against a large, destructive foe. There, she properly teamed up with Blink and Signal for the first time. After this, despire Bella and Quinn's reservations about Citadel, they began heroing together as a trio, eventually settling on the team name "The Moonlighters".
