Angry, Guilty, Rebellious, Tired, Exhausted, Misunderstood, Repressed, Ignorant

Piper is a punk through and through. He loves punk music, punk fashion. and he just doesn't fit in. He has a lot of rage and feels very repressed in his life. He should have a pretty privileged life with his well-to-do family, living at home, but he doesn't recognize his own privileges because he's trapped in his own head with a lot of internal and external struggles. He gets in a lot of fights, but he ain't exactly strong but he tries his best to tough through it. He hates violence so he usually tries to get through his rage by breaking stuff. He doesn't want to hit people so he'll throw shit without reserve because he can't help himself. Also drinking and fucking around helps too. 

He doesn't like being angry. He feels really bad when he blows up at his friends. and well, he struggles to make and keep friends because of this too. He's got a lot of stressors going on in his life that keep weighing on him.  when he was in school, he started to struggle to pay attention so his grades slipped and he couldn't keep up with his parents expectation, also, he keeps stuff bottled up and to himself, he thinks he's got an eating disorder he represses and keeps from his parents and he's not totally sure he's got one for sure, and honestly, his stepdad is old fashioned and piper is bi and can't come out to his parents either, so he's just got a lot of shit built up. And he's sick of people looking down on him because his old man was a piece of shit too.

He absolutely has streaks of bullying, resorting to verbally attacking other people to make it seem like he's better off than them. 

History

Piper was born to a defense lawyer mother and an out of work father. His life didn't start out as perfect, but they made a decent family despite Piper's predisposition to disrespect authority. But things all went to shit when his father was arrested. Piper's father was always a closed off man, and he didn't understand him or his motives. He didn't understand why his father tampered with evidence from one of the cases his mother was working on. During the trial after his arrest, his mother and father got a divorce, and his father was sent to jail. 

Piper is pissed off at his dad for putting him through this and being so selfish. Why didn't he think about the family? Why didn't he think about how this would make other kids look at Piper differently? Why didn't he think about how Piper would feel being raised without his father? When Piper knew him, his dad always helped him, taught him things, let him play with his tools. He was not overly kind or harsh. He was just a man that Piper could respect. But all that was ruined when his dad got arrested. He was forbidden from watching the news or getting updates about the trial. He didn't know what the big deal was or why he was being kept in the dark. He assumed for years that his dad was just some pathetic druggie who was good at hiding it. But for some reason, his mother always gets mad at Piper when he complains about his father.

Piper's mother will often talk about how similar Piper is to his father but with little explanation. She never talks about the case, which pisses Piper off. Not that he wants to be constantly reminded about his father's failures, but it sounds like his mother knows more about the trail and what happened than she lets on. Piper gets angry because if there is any information to clear his father's name or information that will help Piper forgive his old man, he wants to know it! But his mother is very wishy-washy and defensive. Maybe it was just the way she was. His mother liked a good drink, and he'd often find her drunk and looking at old family photos. She was a bit of an anomaly to him. She was very soft at home but had a way of asserting herself in court. She was still someone that needed to be taken care of, but made her career on her own.  She wasn't good on her own, much to Piper's instance that she was, and she eventually remarried to a man that Piper hates. His new step father is a lawyer just like his mother. He's a prosecutor, and together they make quite the power couple.

Piper's step-father is a real uptight goody-two-shoes prosecuting lawyer. Naturally, Piper started acting out even more when his mother remarried to him. But this only made things worse for himself and his step-father, who hates having a kid who has been arrested before. It's not a good look for a lawyer to have a kid who has a list of minor offenses. He always bails him out though...reluctantly. He wants to teach Piper a lesson, but he doesn't want his own reputation tarnished. So instead, he yells at Piper for being a disappointment and then leaves him to his own devices. At the end of the day, Piper's stepdad isn't that bad of a guy. They just come from two different worlds and ways of thinking. Piper struggles to forgive him or talk things out with him, and his stepfather is the same way. Neither can bring themselves to do it, both stuck in their own stubbornness. That being said, Piper knows that his stepfather is also quite old fashioned, and Piper struggles to admit his own sexuality to himself, much less his family that he thinks will reject him even further.

Piper also has a step brother named Stephen, who is a few years older than him and has already moved out. Stephen was always the perfect child so Piper resents him a lot, also Stephen's just a straight up dick to him, so Piper's not just jealous, (which he also it). He has good reason to despise his step-brother.

Piper has been financially cut off from his family despite still living at home. They do not trust him, under his step-father's suggestion, to use the family money responsibly. However, he still racks up a lot of debt to his step-father with his multiple bail-outs. So Piper has to work for his own money, which he doesn't mind of course. However, Piper struggles to keep a job because of some of his issues and habits. He can't help but get into fights at work somehow, He blames it on bad luck. But its never fully his fault, it always feels like someone is trying to set him up. Because of this, his horrible track record, and his criminal background, he gets fired and blamed often, and sometimes, not even hired and given a chance at all. He very badly wants to move out and start a life on his own, but it's just an endless cycle of suffering.
