Xander is a quiet man. He's shy with people, but is somehow confident when dealing with the supernatural by himself. When working, he's extremely focused and neat. He's extremely superstitous and goes out of his way to avoid getting bad luck or allowing harmful spirits in his life. Though, he is decently gullible and can succumb to peer pressure easily. If he's with someone he likes, he'll become needy for attention. Very very touch starved.

Past

His parents died while he was young. His mother died from cancer, while his father died later in a car accident on his way to a business trip. This happened while he was in university, so he graduated with them gone and got a job. It took a while to grieve over them, but he tried to remain strong for their sakes. Though, he soon noticed something odd. After his parents died, they stuck around him as grieving spirits; regretful of leaving their son early. He gave them the peace of mind that they could pass on, while he would continue to care for himself in their name.

Afterwards, he realized spirits were not to be feared, but sympathzied with. He greatly felt for spirits after dealing with his parents, and made it a side job of his to help lingering souls pass on.

When starting to investigate spirits, he took every possibility to hunt. This lead to him being attacked by a harmful spirit. The spirit tried to steal his soul, nearly draining the life from him, but he was able to exorcise it. However, it left him with grey eyes and horrible eyesight. After this, he told himself he would only go after what he could handle.

Present

He's a lonely, but hard working journalist. The journalism is his primary job, while he occasionally gets calls for his side job as an exorcist. He's built a small memorial shrine for his parents in his apartment, where he keeps his mother's violin and cross pendant from his father. He only has one friend, another journalist named Andi he went to school with. He'd like to be social, but finds that he's too awkward to meet new people.

Something he does as extra, because he wants to help as many spirts as possible, is go to art auctions where they're supposedly selling haunted art. He doesn't like when people treat tortured spirits like tourist attractions. They used to be people, after all. He wants to give them the respect they deserve and let them pass onto the afterlife.
