Holly and Melissa's relationship was probably longer than it should have been, and definitely interesting. Holly was head over heels for the sweet, quiet blonde, and despite being a little annoyed at having to be kept a secret from Melissa's parents, she was enamored with how much attention Melissa gave her. So much so that when she suspiciously started to fall ill with increased frequency while around Melissa, she brushed it off. Of course, Holly had to draw the line somewhere, and she found that line when Melissa fed her a piece if flesh from her bicep in a meal. She didn't want the breakup to get violent, but Melissa swung first.
Amice was the traveling companion of Cole during his original quest. They met by chance in her hometown, and she simply left with him, wanting to be free of her restrictive life. They became extremely close, and even developed mutual feelings for each other that were sadly never acted upon. Amice was the only person to have ever seen Cole without his glamour up.
Sadly, when Cole's quest failed, he disappeared, leaving them behind. They tried contacting him when he briefly turned on his twitter DM's when he was 16, but their message was drowned out by hundreds of hateful ones and remained unread.
The public's image of Amice was one of pity, rather than scorn Cole faced after his failure. In the eyes of the people, Amice was just some girl he dragged along and betrayed, and her defense of him in the aftermath of his failure was simply due to manipulation on his part. They hate that sentiment, but ended up laying low after the Scotts were killed for publicly maintaining support for Cole. They've had a few relationships in the interim, but they never stopped thinking about Cole.
Amice started out as a complete stranger he met early into his quest to prevent a drastic war between two races that were destined to tear the world apart at its seams just to kill the other. He happened to wander into her town by mistake after getting lost in her city's streets and after learning of his impressive lack of both social and navigation skills, Amice invited herself onto his quest- despite his protests. Throughout their travels the two became close, but Cole didn't quite understand his feelings for her due to his sheltered upbringing. She was his first love and he didn't know how to process such a thing, so he chose to ignore the fluttering in his chest in favor of focusing on his quest. He trusted her with his life and allowed her to see his true self, and she returned the sentiment fully. Unfortunately, this close bond was broken apart the night Cole was betrayed by the human kingdom and the blame was shifted onto him, painting him as the villain and branding him a failure in the eyes of the nation. A young boy was blamed for the sins of grown men and everyone blindly followed along, hunting down anyone that still supported his cause to end the war years after his failure. He did the only thing he could think of to protect her. Run. Occasionally his thoughts would turn towards the time he spent with Amice and guilt would gnaw at his gut for leaving her without a word, but with age came the increasing bitterness Cole felt towards the gods that pressed his guilt back down. It was easy for him to ignore such feelings when he wasn't suddenly face to face with his old friend dealing with long forgotten butterflies making their home in his chest.
Holly may not have known Pat as long as she's known Matt, but the two goths are still incredibly close. There's something unspoken about their bond, the way they can share a quiet moment and just know that cements the together. They're both protectors, pulling each other back from the edge while they guard everyone else from the hurtful things. Their friendship is understated, but still crucial.
