for me, it’s just boiled down to:
- repeating shapes, both physical (as in fur style) and markings (froggy’s ears and tail)
- shape language. shape edges makes the character angsty; round, curved lines makes the character soft looking; and smooth long longs makes the character elegant looking. but yknow, always spice it up and make the soft character evil LMAO (i looked at your icons and you’re already so good at this!!)
- in terms of colouring….. i have no idea as well i literally go with the flow and hope for the best 😭 i guess hue shift your colours, don’t stay monochromatic forever! oh and avoid pure whites/greys on fur if you can/want
i usually go the for eyes/eyebrows and hair first before doing anything else; i think those have the most potential to set up the unique look of a character ^^ give them dot eyes for heck of it LOL
most of my style is influenced by anime/manga (cough Demon Slayer eyes cough) so don’t be afraid to look at other sources on building your designs! quinton’s redesign for example is loosely based off a peacock but also ninetales from pkmn!

how do you make your ranks seprated? i saw in one of your sub folders for them, it had the heading of their ranking and they were spread out. how do you do this?

the ranks are technically folders too! you just have to change the parent (as in the main folder the ranks go in) folder style from 'Nested' to 'Flattened' to make them appear on one page!

i use procreate on a ipad (5th gen) + my trusty finger; as for my brush, i use like 5+ casually so you might want to link some of my drawings if you'd like specifics LMAO
if you’re referring to the right drawing’s lineart, then i used Procreate’s HB Pencil but with a higher count/modified thickness :]
if the left, then Procreate’s Mercury brush (and Tinderbox for the middle lolol)
both are default brushes and with a higher streamline/stability ^^)b
i typically colour/shade with the lasso tool and Procreate’s Studio Pen (but with a lower streamline)!
