Iries

A Resplendent Irie is a massive, gentle frugivore, and the only  creature large enough to cultivate the seeds of the life-giving  worldtrees where they make their homes. Their species was nearly hunted  to extinction for their brilliant, color-shifting scales, triggering an  ecological disaster that lead to widespread famine and death. Now they  are devoutly protected and revered as mortal gods.

Most iries are  worshiped merely for their positions as nature's guardians, but  occasionally an irie with some preternatural power will be born; these  are typically held in high regard, becoming the patron deity of a  burgeoning faith, while others claim the irie to be no more significant  than any other or that all iries possess such abilities.
