Sathe's relationship with Norrin is complex. Out of everyone, Sathe still trusts him the most. He thinks Norrin is a genuinely good person, wants to see the best in everyone, and always offers second chances. He's his closest friend, and he doesn't regret saying his secrets to him. He said he'd follow him anywhere, and they both have nowhere else to go after this. Sathe hopes he sticks to his word - he's not ready to say goodbye to him after this is all over.
But there are times where they clash - where their personalities end up rubbing each other the wrong way, or some actions can lead to hurting the other without realising. It's happened more than once. Sathe's hurt Norrin, and Norrin's hurt Sathe, both thinking they're in the right. Sathe's trying to be a better person, and trying not to be stubborn, and trying to accept faults. He KNOWS Norrin does what he does to protect the people he cares about. He just wishes... he'd do it in a different way. Maybe trust him a little more, despite everything.
Stop being... /afraid/ of him.
They're as stubborn as each other, and their recent spat has Sathe feeling betrayed. He understands why. He forgives him - truly. Just as the last time. And he's sorry for snapping, and saying a lot of the things he did. He didn't mean it. But it hurt.
Was it maybe too early to call him his best friend? After only... a month? It was /true/ but...
Well, whatever. They have a tough road ahead of them. Sathe will be there for him. He'll protect him from the dangers of the world, and the danger that Sathe fears he's bringing. Too many things going on. Too many problems making things complex. They'll get through this together. Despite their arguments, their clashes, their heated spats... they're still friends. /Good/ friends. And they have each others backs in a fight.
Sathe's scared of losing himself in the Shudderwoods. And he still feels that out of everyone, he can trust Norrin to pull him out of it.
Sathe is difficult to describe in the eyes of Norrin. Eventhough he considers Sathe to be a close friend, he is hardly sure if he can trust him at this point. Norrin is sure that Sathe and him have the same, or at least similar ideals, though they try to achieve it in vastly different ways, which is hard for Norrin to understand. Where both of them try to keep suffering of others to a minimum, Sathe does it in a way more destructive way than he is used to, which says a lot coming from Norrin.
Sathe has apologized for the way he has been going behind the others' backs, and Norrin forgives him for that. In some way he can understand, though such a blow, coinciding with other factors just make it hard for Norrin to immediately trust him fully, even for Norrin's standards. He needs time, and he is willing to spend that time with Sathe, in order to help him on his road to redemption. Not only for what he has done to the party, but for the things he seems to be held down with for years.
One thing's for sure, they both care about each other a lot. Sathe is a valued party member, and Norrin would've probably died ages ago if it weren't for Sathe stepping in. Norrin hopes to help Sathe find his peace, because he is a friend, and there's nothing Norrin wouldn't do for a friend.
Norrin continues to show that he has a massive heart of gold. The hafling is one of the most selfless people Azar knows. Perhaps a bit too much at times. It is something Azar does worry about. Norrin always tries to see the best in everybody and has a warmth that Azar is sure could melt even the coldest people, given enough time and determination from Norrin. They might still be chaos incarnate at times and perhaps a tad impulsive, but it somethin the ifrit has fully accepted about him. It just comes with the package deal, the bad and the overwhelming good. By a long shot they are the only person where Azar feels like he isn't a massive burden constantly needing to tell everything, he can just be casual with Norrin which he appreciates a lot. There is still guilt that he did went to far at the theater despite Norrin's wishes. He knows the other forgave him, doesn't take away the guilt though. In the end though, no matter what happens, Azar is very grateful that Norrin entered his life and will make sure that Norrin gets through this all safe and sound.
Azar stays the most mysterious to Norrin, which is definitely not the worst thing. Azar is wise and thinks before he speaks, which is a very respectable thing in the eyes of the halfling. Norrin believes Azar has a strong heart that seems difficult to scratch, be it by positive or negative events.
Even Azar can lash out however, and it's nasty when he does, though to a point, it always seems justified and righteous. And whenever it's not the case, he quickly knows it so and apolgizes for it.
From what Norrin has gathered, Azar is traveling with a purpose, unlike Norrin who has nowhere to go to. He is curious as to what Azar is exactly looking for, if he even knows what he is looking for, though he hopes he can find out with him together.
