he is very l-lovable. b-but nothing would change if I told him how I feel so I am content staying as friends. He helps me socialize... w-which I am not very good at. I appreciate his kindness.
My shy classmate. A bit odd, but I'm sure she means well.
"Oh, Voya's the captain! ...I don't even need to look at what she wrote about me to know it's probably something about me being useless."
Effie generally respects the two captains, mostly because they have the right to chuck her off the side of the airship at any given moment. Of Effie's group of friends, she seems to cause the least amount of problems for Voya and Diyal. She is a willing lackey to the blind Voya, but as for Diyal, nothing will ever stop Effie from treating him like a pet... specially a house cat.
Diyal: Effie's the deadweight!
Voya: Our friend Effie is not a deadweight; she is very useful!
Diyal: What for?
Voya: Footstool. ;;7;;
They are (vaguely) aware that Effie is special... or something. She's not so much a stowaway on their journey, more like a good luck charm. Voya and Diyal keep her around because they believe it will bring them good fortune. So far, this doesn't appear to be the case.
Voya sometimes finds Effie useful and takes pity on the child. Sometimes.
Diyal, on the other hand, views the young Cromie as a nuisance. It's mostly because she treats him as a mere pet, despite Diyal being nearly three times her age.
