The Space Ace Squad’s world is set in the future in an alternate dimension. In this world, a race called the Alimyets is attempting to colonize vast portions of the universe. Their biggest competition is the Church of Illuz, a religious order (re: cult) also obsessed with spreading their influence and colonizing planets. Unfortunately for both a human name Shane, and a rouge Alimyet, named Naya, hiding on Earth, that’s the next target of this conflict. The two escape the planet, and Naya takes them to a group of her friends. Naya’s friends are a small band of space pirates, who make their money by robbing rich merchant ships, or various wealthy outposts. They call themselves pirates, but really they’re trying to stop both imperialistic forces from taking over more of space. They do this by sabotaging their wealth lines. The group tries not to hurt regular people. The story follows this group and their shenanigans. Despite the goofy antics, there is an overall sorrowful undertone, since the group knows they can never really fix anything. But it’s a peaceful acceptance, not depression.
