Her precious baby and the light of her life, Gina adores little Gemma with her whole heart. Though (clearly) not related by blood, she nor the show have made any attempt to point this out and for all intents and purposes, she and her darling baby are just as close and valid all the same. In her debut special, Gina showed a bit of apprehension for being a single mother and "raising a baby on her own," but with reassurances from the other neighbors, and the hatching of Gemma herself, those qualms seemed to have evaporated. They both receive a lot of community support from the others, a thing she is grateful for.
Gemma loves her momma a lot!
Within the show, Gina takes on the role of a maternal, teaching figure for Trudy in times of misadventure. In child caring segments that require someone to be the "example," it'll often be Trudy or Helen. Outside of the show, she quite likes Trudy and the spunk she has, as well as her love for activity and nature. She will often make time for Trudy to teach her how to cook and bake (which Trudy is poor at).
Gina and Trudy have a reoccurring theme of appearing in each other's segments to some degree. Trudy, in the show, appears to have a sort mother-daughter dynamic with Gina, in that when a lesson needs to be taught, it's often Gina teaching Trudy. Or, vise versa, Trudy is sharing facts and activities with Gina and Gemma. Outside of the show, they're somewhat close and enjoy each other's company.
Her beloved nephew! She adores her relative and sees him like a son. Gina dotes on him and reassures him through his hard times. She's aware of his more fragile traits and acts as a main-stay within his support system. When ever she has to do chores or be away, she entrusts her little baby - Gemma - into his care because she wholeheartedly trusts Wesley.
Gina is Wesley's aunt and maternal figure since he was a teen. He moved in to the neighborhood with her, but have separate houses. If there's anyone who he feels wouldn't forget him, it's Gina and she is one of very few people in his life that he feel he can confide in and count on. He often baby sits for her when she's running errands, as he adores his little nephew with his entire heart. Besides Maria, the little dude is the first to be read his stories.
Rocky and Gina can sometimes be each other's foil - where one is calm and kind, the other is loud and (in some cases) unkind. She, however, seems to see past his faults and adores him all the same. Rocky, alongside Trudy and Wesley, are of the the three main baby sitters for Gemma when Gina is out for chores, so there is a level of trust between them (one not explored though the show, anyway). In episodes where they appear together, Gina will playfully, but still sternly, scold Rocky for any of his "bullying" behaviour, a thing that has become a bit of a running gag.
