BluetoothF had briefly convinced CrestedflowerF to have a fling with her, but the two never had kittens and broke up shortly thereafter. Crestedflower seemed excited about her newfound freedom. Then Bluetooth began trying to convince Crestedflower to run away with her and abandon the clan...

When Shystar dies, major drama ensues! First of all, Snooktoe doesn't feel ready to take over leadership in its full capacity, but he does so in order to respect Shystar's wishes. Vinekit was grabbed by an eagle, but Tanglebird saved his life. Tanglebird is given poppies as a gift for her service during these difficult times, and she begins to wear them with pride... However she also breaks up with Whorlmist, who has taken to lingering around Snookstar, presumably to benefit from his powerful position in his time of loneliness and despair, and the cats are getting a bit fed up with this behavior. A rogue ends up joining and in a moment of weakness, short of males and strong warriors alike, he is accepted with open arms. Tanglebird wants to get rid of him and doesn't trust him a bit, but the more she interrogates him the more she finds herself falling for his charms, especially after they encounter a Starclan spirit, that of Shystar herself, who tells them that Frostpaw may not seem like much now, but they ought to keep an eye on him! 

They aren't sure whether this means that he will become a cat of great importance, or that he might do something awful, so the cats remain on edge...
