The Broken Retreat
The Broken Retreat is a largely known pirate island, popular for many of the pirate cultures that would normally be shunned from a modern day city. The population is actually larger than you might expect! The island is not just well known for it’s regular visits from pirates, but also for it’s daily wanted contracts, public executions, strict laws on female companionship, drinking bars, prisons, and more! Most, if not all of the residents, have come to live here after being marooned on the other side of the island. They are among the people who were lucky to survive a difficult trek from an open, dangerous land, all the way to the village where everyone goes, and even then, advantage could be taken of how weak they’ve become from the lack of food, money, and sometimes clothes. The population changes from time to time, due to the repetitive cycle of people finding new crews who are there to hire some new gunners, fighters, cooks, and generally those who have become strong enough to survive on a ship.
Bounty hunters are commonly pirates who mainly work to kill or find other pirates to imprison for their crimes in Killer-Salt Village. Many of them are also pirates!
The Members of Justice are basically the law enforcers in The Broken Retreat. These people either make wanted contracts, make new laws, or arrest those breaking the law. They even lead the executions as well!
The Willow Woodlands is home to all of these spirits. Without them, the island would starve of nature and resources. It is vital that the village do not know of their existence, despite the mayor’s persistent attempts to discover them. Only then, will the mayor be at war with the forest.
This island just wouldn’t be the same without the pirates that drink, buy, break the law, and live here! Most of the population will dock around the island for entertainment and getting some gold. Others, who work around the island’s facilities, are able to live in some decent conditions.
The prisoners of the island are brought here for various reasons. As completed wanted contracts, as those who break a law in the island, or those who are being prepared for a public execution.
The residents here come into range from all ages, species, interests, strength, height, personality, abilities, etcetera. These are the people who have managed to make The Broken Retreat into their home, under the circumstances of the island not being the best of places to made residency in.
